Well crap! I was going to install the PPE oil filter that came last month but now that I hear about the issues, maybe not. I have AC Delco and Baldwins sitting on the shelf and will just use them. My oil pressure on my 2017 fluctuates with throttle up to 100 psi until the oil comes up to temp. I read on the Duramax forum that it is very common with the Dmax. I like the tin foil and will implement that for the next oil change. Another great video Scott.

ok so this filter being a 5M its almost like the oilfilter bypass systems where they add a low flow high density filter to decrease the micron size while holding the factory highflow filters as the primary but without a relocation system and two filters. My thinking is this filter has 3x the media to reduce the pressure created while maintaining the flow rates and increased filtration. .. hmmmm,, MINT!!!! also steeling the foil idea,.. thanks man....
@linksgarage19853 жыл бұрын
Boom! I agree with what you said. If you had a 5M in a factory sized filter the flow would be severely decreased. So they increased the filter media size by almost 3 times the OEM. And the aluminum foil trick is money!!! Zero mess. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!

40 bucks for 1 PPE filter , come on I pay 75 at CAT 3 fuel filters and 1 oil filter. Please read the duramax forum. anti drain back valve is useless when the filter is facing up. So dry starts is not a thing. Oil would have to flow up hill against gravity. Please read the duramax forum on the subject because your new choice gets dumped on. If the filter drained out why use the foil.... cut open the PPE it looks almost just like the CAT. Only addition is ADBV.. which is not needed. Look at the filter location the oil will not defy gravity. I had this conversation with other “duramax channels” and no one wants to prove me wrong. I swapped to the CAT because of stupid KZfaq video... but after oil analysts from blackstone no signs of dry starts... I think people are paid to bash shit and not do the research.. no saying you saying in general. Where’s PPE oil bypass valve if the filter gets clogged... Donaldson and CAT are full flow filters no need for those either... Donaldson beats the CAT in filtration again read the forum a lot of good info that is not just some clown running there mouth it has proof.

Saw that on duramaxforum as well but the filter sits horizontal not vertical so I never understood that comment on the oil filter shootout thread.
