Veg masala rice :
Rice - 1 glass
Wash it properly
Heat 4 tbsp of oil
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Black cardamom - 1
Cinnamon stick - 2 inch
Bay leave - 1
Hing - 1/4 tsp
Ginger - 1 tsp
Garlic - 1 tbsp
Onion - 1/2 cup
Green chilli - 2
Raw peanuts - 4 tbsp
Potato - 1/4 cup
Cauliflower- 1/4 cup
French Beans - 1/4 cup
Carrot - 1/4 cup
Green peas - 1/4 cup
Capsicum - 1/4 cup
Tomato - 1/4 cup
Fry it for 3- 4 minutes
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Add washed rice
Mix it well
Add 1.75 glass of water
Add salt to taste
2 whistles on high flame
Turn off the flame
Serve with Dahi and salad

Thank you Kabitaji, for a great recipe condensed in a 5 min video. A couple of points from a long term fan of yours. 1) The shorter versions of the videos are an excellent variation - they allow viewers to get the gist of it in a snap. Having learnt from you in the detailed videos, the short ones are great to breeze through, if we forget a thing or two. 2) Now, it's a problem that almost all KZfaqrs provide cook time at full pressure in terms of number of whistles, for traditional pressure cooker recipes. Pressure cookers vary in terms of time between whistles. It also depends upon what was the user's setting of high heat versus medium or low heat. If you would compare these recipes with programmable pressure cookers such as Instant Pot, the latter suggest that after sauteing , cook at full pressure with the cooker closed. And cooking time is expressed as X minutes. For a typical cauliflower based preparation it's 3 minutes at full pressure, followed by immediate release. What I trying to say is that when it is suggested that we cook for 2 whistles, it means cooking is being done at full pressure. Therefore, "time at full pressure" (which is when the whistles start, would be a better measure as opposed to number of whistles. Which is basically the science behind it. Thank you as always for your recipes - they're absolutely delicious and wonderful.
