Such a marvelous presentation by Dr. Ignatius Gonsalves. It was so enlightening, educative and interesting that I was glued to the screen from start to finish.It helped clear many doubts that I was harbouring all these years. I have heard my mom sing that song 'Shingili Nane' on several occasions. The song in byla tempo could be of Dutch origin, but is very popular in Sri Lanka. I thought Dr. Gonsalves would briefly touch upon the contributions of the Anglo Indians in the field of music too.

A very informative speech. Happy to learn about the rich cultural heritage and contributions of the Anglo-Indian community, especially the Portuguese community. India is debted to you all. If not already, these historical facts much be published for the benefit of the present and future generations.

The coastal area of Trivandrum is the dwelling area of Latin Catholics .They have the names such as Perera,Dicruze,Netto ,Gonsalvas , Isabella isidore,etc...The Anglo Indian people are also in the society of Latin CATHOLICS
