Hey Guys! I finally finished this Mimi Sentry animation. For the Mimi Sentry model I modified it a tad bit to have more movable hair and better texture. I found my old Iron Giant model that I made when I was 11, so I decided to clean it up a bit and make a video out of it! I hope you enjoy it!

Way better than it has any right to be. The hand transform, the balancing, her scared twitchy reaction, her arm gripping her middle in pain and the eyes.

Dont forget the reverb fart sound effect and the scout repeating "need a dispenser here" over and over in the background. It all adds to the realism

Just today I thought: "It's been a while since I've heard anything about mimi-sentry, the seal has completely swallowed up people" and I stumble upon this masterpiece. Without bullshit, this is the best animation about her in my memory, and maybe in general. The movements are perfectly animated, the frame rate is high, most of the animations about mimi-sentry are more like shitposts, compared to them this is a breath of fresh air.

I think it's just lore accurate that the Iron Giant eats the sentry gun, he's a robot that despises the idea of being used as a weapon and so he eats another robot used as a weapon.

I love how Engineer’s final line encapsulates the Iron Giant as a character “sometimes you need a little less gun”, not to mention him eating the enemy sentry rather than going ballistic speaks highly to his character development and his consumption of metal

I like how Mimi acted more-or-less like Hogarth did when he met the Giant for the first time. Also the Engie just shrugging off a giant metal beast like it's no big deal 😆😆😆

Actually it's because I used that scene with Hogarth from the movie as animation reference for her movements when she is on the ground! The engie part was my brothers idea, and it turned out so much better than I thought.

Practical Problems, practical concerns, enemy sentry is down, his sentry still up, he's probably holding a lvl 3 dispenser, and his teammates are getting shot at. Far as he's concerned everything there is a ok lol.

This is studio-level polish. I like the flashing light when she gets an idea. The shadows changing as time passes, the little stumble as she hops off IG's hand. The characters are really expressive in all your animations.

Gad dang, growing up on Iron giant this really hits home for me, the subtle fave movements, the way his eyes flash a richer color of yellow at the hint of danger, thank you, this brightened my day, and shows this needs to be an on going friendship/mini series XD

@denfurret7217 I think his battle mode only activates if whatever weapon is being pointed at him makes noise and seems like it is actually shooting at him, like Hogarth’s toy blaster or if he willingly activates it like when he goes Terminator on the US army

no, It seems like he only goes ballistic out of pure anger. At least in the movie, the only time he went ballistic is when he thought Hogarth died.

This was just thoroughly great. Glad to see Mimi Sentry’s still getting good attention. Between the models and the animations that have come out prior to this (not counting any unhealthy ones featuring weirdly focused abuse or forced innuendos), Mimi has a lot of potential for use. It would be a shame if all that went to waste by people leaving her model to collect dust in the Steam Workshop.

A little detail i noticed is that you can hear another engineer (probaly blu engineer) screaming "sentry down!" from afar in 1:20 when the Giant eat the sentry Good animation with a lot details, nice!

Dude oh my god I absolutely love this! The character animation, detail, the little additions to her model like normal mapping and hair physics, the interactions, sound, are all on point! This is by far one of my favorite mimi animations so far, love when the community does stuff like that with my silly little model! Also, for being 11 when you made it, that Iron giant model is top-notch. Great work, man

As an Iron Giant fan, as soon as I heard the faint sound of metallic footsteps, one thought came to mind: “Iron Giant.” This brought me back so much nostalgia, so much in fact, that in made me rewatch the entire movie again. When I rewatched the movie, every second of it made me feel like I was a kid again, but even though I’m a teenager, I still enjoyed every second of it! I am so glad that there are still people out there in our modern society that hasn’t forgotten about this, lovable, kind hearted, alien super weapon of a robot.

Dude I havent watched Iron Giant in so long. Hearing those foot steps again brought back so much nostalgia. Honestly I really want them to make another movie for the longest time now. They left it on a cliffhanger where Iron Giant is still alive and is regaining all of his pieces. Hopefully in the future someone with great movie making skill will bring the Iron Giant back in all of his glory

All the commons share my opinion, mimi is amazingly done in graphics as in the action. As well as the fluidity and story. Now for the Iron Giant it's exactly the same. The movement, sounds way of acting. Perfectly, well done, splendid! The way he arrives, the mouth movements, the hand and it's fingers stretch out like in movie and probably reality. I can place the Iron Giant completely in this. Thank you!

Neat, i do think the giant is a but small compared to the movie. And i think you can use the dentless version knowing he did survive in the end😉 Oh i would love to see more of them, maybe you could make this giant like a prototype creating the lore that the real giant simply was tasked to find it🤔
