Team T.REX hits the range with some M4A1s. Shooting scored courses of fire and focusing on 100M drills which is often overlooked in most people's rifle training.
Using T.REX AC1s and the new T.REX Quad Flap Chest Rig.

Scored. Like a grade. Points in a game, high score is a like grade school. Highest score wins.. All competitive shooting had some scheme for scoring (minus points for miss, hits in bullseye/ zone is higher than edges of target) Makes it fun, and another want to compete/discrimination of 'who won' if two people shot same times
@EuropaChronicles
@EuropaChronicles 10 ай бұрын
In this video, they were scoring the competitive runs with “Hit Factor” which is the number of points divided by the amount of time. An A-zone hit is worth 5 points, a C-zone hit is worth 3 points and a D-zone is usually worth 1 point (sometimes people will give 0 points for hits in the D-zone). If you don’t know what the scoring zones are, do a Google search for “USPSA target” and you’ll find plenty of pictures. So, if you run a drill that is shoot 5 rounds, reload, shoot 5 more rounds and it takes you 10 seconds. When you score the target you have 6 As, 3Cs, and 1 D, that’s 40 points (6x5 + 3x3 + 1x1). You then divide your total points by your total time for a Hit Factor of 4 (40/10). This gives you a quantifiable metric to use to compare yourself to others and to yourself as you improve. That which can be measured can be improved. If you don’t know your times and scores for drills, then you have no way of knowing if you’re actually getting better. Lucas put up several very good comprehensive Courses of Fire on the TRex Arms website under the training section. You can use these to determine your current level of skill with rifle and/or pistol. In order to improve with both types of weapons, I’d strongly recommend you check out videos by Ben Stoeger & Matt Pranka (aka XRay Alpha) Not only do they have tons of free videos about drills, but Ben also posts 90+ minute free videos on KZfaq from his training classes. You’ll learn good drills to use AND what to look for to correct mistakes.

I have multiple rifles with different barrel lengths, rails, cool guy stuff... the rifle I LOVE to take out to the range and am the most comfortable shooting is the M4 style with RAS and a Comp M4S. I have some quality of life improvements and dont stick to clone correctness, but I love it. Like it or not, this setup has been the most common and remains the most common as our National Guard and General Army fields this set up to this day, not to mention the armies we "loan" these out to. I appreciate that you guys show this type of content. Not everything HAS to be the latest and greatest, as long as you go out and train.

Majority of optics are best zeroed with 62gr(since they mostly market them for the military and the standard round is the M855 green tip in 62gr). They also probably do it because if SHTF the majority of ammo you are likely to encounter in 5.56 will be in 62gr.

@@HWG-wm8ld I was a parole agent in Pennsylvania and we trained all live fire drills to include malfunctions drills this includes night time drills. Most people have never cleared phase 1,2 or 3 malfunctions while under pressure and very few train it. We also watched case study video of law enforcement and military personnel panicking under fire when faced with malfunctions while under fire. So it may not seem like a necessary drill but it has its merits, similar to dry firing and administrative and tactical reloads. Lastly I think it would make good content especially in live fire competition. It’s just a suggestion. Lucas asked for suggestions. I’m taking a gamble that this channel has probably never received a suggestion like that. I think it’s one of those invaluable things you didn’t think you need to know until you saw it demonstrated.

I wanna see Lucas and his crew do the army’s rifle qual w a M4 and acog or cco. They also have to do the army’s 25 meter zero. Not sayings it’s hard, it would just be interesting

Prone supported and unsupported then standing supported in foxhole. What else was it? It's been a minute since I did army rifle quals

@@arktactical6112They got rid of the foxhole years ago lol. For a long while it was prone supported, prone unsupported, kneeling. Now, it's standing offhand, prone, kneeling with barrier, and standing with barrier with reloads and transitions as part of your time rather than stopping.

please do a short video discussing the need or lack thereof/pros or cons of FSB guns vs. floated rails and the relationship to practical carbine shooting, I do not believe there is as much of need to go for a floated rail if not mounting IR units but almost everyone is deadset on getting a railed carbine, can you discuss this and whether or not the cost of quality rails is necessary for non-IR equipped carbines

You could hear one of the guys complaining in the video about the non-floated rail. It's easy to induce a point of impact shift while bracing your gun against a barricade with a rail like this. The barrel moves with the rail as pressure is applied. A Midwest Industries rail is not all that expensive and they are good quality, check them out.
