I am so very happy to see you both!! You were one of the first people who, many years ago, made me consider RCIA. I am so grateful to be able to say that I have *finally* answered the call and am planning to get confirmed in 2023. Thank you for being here and coming back - we all missed you!

Speaking from a non-married person perspective, i wanted to summarize the advice in the video. Be stable within yourself and make your connection with your partner high importance. 1) practice conflict resolution. Work on problem solving throughout your life so that when you live with someone who is bound to you for life (and you can’t run away) you can deal with it. 2) create solid healthy/spiritual habits that you can rely on when things get hectic. Create your own stability so that you can be stable/provide when you are married. Yeah, I think the biggest thing people don’t realize is that many people have a lot of emotional things to work on. Being avoidant, shutting people down, etc might work when you only have surface level relationships. (If you get mad at a friend, you don’t necessarily have to stay friends with them) but when you are making the decision to commit to a person, you gotta commit. You have to get through it. If you want to have a happy life, you have to have that stability and not lose yourself in it while also balancing valuing your partner. I’m definitely learning that in my relationship. It’s easy to pull away when things get difficult, but if you want something to last, you have to put a lot into it/support it.

Thank you for your advice. Not only for this video but previous too. I've been watching several videos of yours. I'm pleasantly surprised to find a sister in the Lord although I'm evangelical and you're catholic. God bless you :)

Hi Emily! I hope you, and yours are doing well! I was wondering if you could talk about the topic: how to live happily as a single woman/man. Debunk the mith that a happy life begins when you get married. Even though I am very well aware of this, I still struggle to implement that into my life. How to live happiness now? Thank you!

I would loveee a video discussing that as well! I’m 26 and I’ve always known that I wanted to get married and have a family. Sometimes I find it difficult to be content in my season of singleness. I really want to become better at that. This video was a great start! Thank you Emily ❤️

Loved this!! Good stuff to chew on for a little bit and see how you can incorporate that into your everyday life. This is definitely something you will have to watch multiple times to get everything you were talking about. Work on one thing at a time!!! Thank you both of you!!! I appreciate it!!! :)

I loved this video, and each of your points. I'm glad your husband really shares your care and interest in being involved in your content. I especially like your point about not only being quick to apologize, but also being quick to forgive. It is really hard for me to forgive, especially when I feel like the behavior or action is rooted in a deep and casual disrespect, or that the problem is continuous, and that an apology doesn't mean that the behavior or action will stop. Luckily I'm not married, but that destroyed my relationship. Lack of apologies, or avoidance. My own resentment of that. It's reassuring to hear both of you say that. I do have a question though. How would either of you navigate marriage and forgiving someone after multiple discussions of the same issue, with no change? Had that ever happened in your marriage? Sorry for the long-winded message, but I really like your videos, and I'm happy that you're back.
