My Son’s Appointment, by Mariana (pg. 1)
Four months ago, I took my 5-year-old son to the clinic for a sore throat. I felt comfortable at the appointment. The doctor gave me enough time to explain my son’s problem. She listened closely and checked my son. She asked my son if he is going to school. She asked if he already knows how to read. My son answered that he can read in Spanish.
Finally, she prescribed some medicine for the sore throat. She gave my son one book and one sticker. My son was happy to take them. I would like to say that my experience at this clinic is always good. My appointments are always successful. I recommend this clinic.
A Long Wait, by Mu Wah (pg. 2)
Last year, my daughter had a fever and a sore throat. I called her regular clinic to make an appointment. The clinic told me they will be closed for a holiday. They asked me to go to another clinic. I brought my daughter to a walk-in clinic. We could see the doctor the same day. We had to wait for three hours because we didn’t have an appointment. When I heard that, I felt so tired. I worried about my daughter’s fever of over 100 degrees.
We waited for three hours. The doctor checked my daughter’s fever, throat and nose. The doctor told us she had an infection in her throat and gave her an antibiotic for 10 days. After my daughter took the medicine for 10 days, the infection was gone. It was a successful appointment. I would like to give people advice: Make an appointment before you go to see a doctor.
