Toni is gearing up for her first date with a woman. With nerves creeping in, Toni’s flatmate Kelli proposes a plan: a full dress rehearsal of the date. As the lines between practice and reality blur, Toni finds herself embarking on a journey where an unexpected twist unfolds and she discovers that true love doesn't always follow the script.

I don't know why, but I love these types of stories where two people like each other, but their feelings aren't quite meeting, and then at some point things become clear or one can't take it anymore and confesses.

They way the roommate kept interrupting the date just annoyed me. People always wait to you have someone to act like they want you😂 luckily it was mutual because I would have went off lol

Funny? Endearing? The second half of this was the complete opposite of both of those things. Kelli was absolutely terrible during the second half. I liked the first half but the second half wasn’t it. Kelli was kinda toxic during the second half. I get she liked Toni but she shouldn’t mess up Toni’s date. U let the date play out on its own and if they hit it off then they hit it off and if they don’t or maybe Toni realizes she wants to be with Kelli then they can be together but to deliberately mess up Toni’s date by constantly interrupting it is terrible. It’s up to Toni to decide who she wants to be with and Kelli basically forced her to pick her by constantly interrupting the date deliberately. Kelli was just severely angering me.

Positive vibes? The second half was terrible af. Kelli was an a hole during the second half of it. I legit couldn’t stand her. She was kinda toxic at least during the second half. I get she liked Toni but u don’t act like this. U let Toni do her own thing and go on this date and if they hit it off on the date then they hit it off. And if they don’t hit it off or maybe Toni realizes she wants to be with Kelli instead then they can get together but that’s up to Toni to decide. Kelli basically forced her to choose her by constantly deliberately interrupting the date. Nothing positive about that.

@@melodiefrances3898 Yes, but some stories are meant to be grounded in reality. This film is not asking you to suspend your disbelief by a large degree. This is not set in space on a far off planet or alternate universe. This is a story that needs to feel relatable, therefore it must be believable. I get what the OP is saying, and I agree. Cute film, hard to believe.

The story was sweet enough, albeit predictable. The action and dialog were a little clunky in places, and without closed captioning, it wasn't always clear which lines were spoken and which were meant to be internal commentary. 🤷🏻‍♀ As for the cast: Hazel Young and Katie Berry were okay, but a bit stiff at times. However, once Natalie Gayle's 'Jo' got past the initial awkwardness of her entrance she became a fully fleshed-out character, utterly believable. Her smile, and her gracious acceptance of the fate accompli at the end of her 'date' with Toni were warm and real, and tremendously attractive. I will look for her in future films!

I get she likes Toni but she shouldn’t deliberately mess up her date by constantly interrupting it deliberately. It’s not up to Kelli who Toni dates it’s up to Toni. And Kelli basically forced her to pick her by deliberately messing up her date. Just cause u like her doesn’t give u the right to do this. U let the date play out and if they hit it off then they hit it off. And if they don’t hit it off or maybe Toni realizes she wants to be with Kelli then they can be together but this was absolutely terrible how Kelli was acting. Also it was extremely easy to tell when they we’re doing internal commentary what do u mean?
