@@theophilusdarko5820 product table was the master table that I need my record, the saleorderitem is like a transactional table, in this case, both left join and inner join should work similarly, because we do not have a duplicate id, so table product is my Master data which I need all my data and the primary key, so I did a left join on the transaction data, which has like the foreign key, I need to return all data in Product table even if there are no matches in saleorderitem, I hope this helps

Awesome tutorial. I cant understand the reason you prefer to use the group by clause just to find the top 5 price. Simple and straitforward would be Select id, product, price From table Order by price desc Limit 5;

Good point, with or without the group by, the query works fine, except we have duplicate ID

@@OmolaraFash sorry, I am new to SQL, at my earlier stage of data analytics journey and just learning from KZfaq source and some other free resources. You are absolutely right, if you are querying on the transaction table, the product id and the products would have more than record (duplicates) where by grouping would give us distinct or unique records. Thank u for the positive feedback. I was misled by being introduced to the group by clause almost always to answer aggregations related questions!
