Great conversation! You guys both brought up some points that really made me feel for the first time in my adult life for me to admit that being humble is struggle that I have because my pride would not allow me to say that out loud. And never once have, I considered the fact that shame and pride go hand-in-hand, because there was a lot of trauma as a little girl for me, and it helps me to better understand perhaps where it comes from. I do know that I am trying to create a false safety *net for myself often and that definitely reveals that I’m not fully trusting in God. And I need help. The closing was great where you talked about remembering where all of our good things are qualities are blessings come from, and that definitely should be enough to be so thankful and humble. Thank you for always being super honest because I myself could say that I look up to you guys because of your strong presence online. Don’t get gassed up now. LOL love the Perry’s!

God used your experience to enable me to see the pride that resides in me in relation to not wanting to appear weak in front others due to my early years and being ridiculed for being overly emotive (which at nearly 40 yrs of age I’m still reminded about by my family).. definitely hardened me over time, but never recognised it as pride … love how God uses you two for His glory💯

That Creator-creation distinction is something that is being overlooked on the doctrines of us being God AND man that is going on... And some of the kingdom stuff that makes us focus on ourselves and the power WE have... There's a lot of subtleties occurring that take our eyes off the Creator.

God once asked me am I a Christian first or am I black first I said of course I am Christian first but my behavior didn’t reflect that I think this applied to me for how I handle racism or race relations I am constantly saying to God that I can’t handle it, but that’s because I feel like I’m fighting due to pride when I should be hand it over to Christ so what Preston said, fit perfectly in expanding my understanding that I am thankful to God for how he uses you guys.a
