@@Blackboard002 you should worry more about the engine shaft that turns the sprocket that pulls the chain. When I went to replace my drivetrain the teeth in this shaft on my bike (which is only a 250) were almost chewed up to the point of balding the shaft.
@Blackboard002
@Blackboard002 3 жыл бұрын
@@Iuripiotrowskidarosa To be honest, I'm not sure which teeth you mean. The teeth on the output shaft of the gearbox, right before sprocket? Those teeth should be connected permanently, so if you use correct oil, there should be no wear in lifetime of the engine even if you shift incorrectly. The wear on the gearbox should be on gearbox dogs and forks in case of wrong shifting habits etc. Maybe I'm completely wrong, but this is how I understand motorcycles so far. Maybe you were talking exactly about these gearbox dogs with recesses/protrusions. Anyway, thank you for your reaction, you made me consider checking my engine internal parts.

I may be mistaken, but the reason for 'upside down' gearboxes on race bikes is that if you want to upshift in a left hand corner, there's often not much room between the gear lever and the road to get your boot in. Big Miller fan. His machine control and feel is superb, cool guy & he's great to listen to. I hope he's in the GP paddock for many years to come

There is a reason for it. There is no neutral between 1st and 2nd on a MotoGP bike. The neutral is before 1st (at the top) and is accessed by pressing a lever on the handle bar and lifting up in the gear lever. To engage first gear when in neutral, all the do is press down on the gear lever in regular Race pattern.
