i respect both of them, i think they are both top fighters and andy souwer is a warrior but i dont see how buakaw lost. he definitely won the fight, how could he not have when he threw andy down like 20 times, sad to see horrible displays of judging like this.

This fight makes me sad, because Buakaw is clearly the better fighter, he dominates EVERY round of the fight, he completely outmatches Souwer, yet for some reason, loses? If this went for a few more rounds, Souwer would have lost by KO.

All respect to buakaw and souwer, just sayin my point buakaw job was just kick(scoring some points) till andy get inside of him, them buakaw clinch and sometimes throw andy(but no points throwing him!), while souwer was doing a sequence of 2 jabs and a upper or cross scoring his points, as i said, just my point 1 buakaw - 2 draw - 3 draw - 4 souwer - 5 draw note that last round souwer scoring more points during all time except in last seconds

i dont think buakaw had much of the choice relying on the clinch. souwer was pressure and moving in close and fast cos he had the upper hand in boxing. which is why buakaw would always have to start with a leg kcik straight away.

I liked Buakaw before seeing his contempt for the other player to drop his adverssaire means the K1 veus you do not fight, I have never seen so many anti Paert game the referee as judges. those who love the sport will agree that Andy was two times better. Buakaw would have the warnings, fortunately there was "justice" Beautiful fight Andy I do not know much about it is a real fighter, he deserves to go far, bravo man bravo!

Buakaw has been robbed TWICE by Andy Souwer’s paid judges. TWO split decision losses after he beat the shit out of him. Andy Souwer did not beat Buakaw one single time. Not once. He CANT beat him, not without his paid judges present.

I have been studying these 'MT. vs. (insert other martial art here)' fights. I also live in Thailand right now. Couple of thoughts: 1) Thais have a stronger base, meaning their legs. They have stronger feet and Achilles tendons, from wearing no shoes/minimally supportive footwear their whole lives (particularly poor Thais). This helps them devastate with kicks, and take punishment to their legs. They are grounded well. 2) Thais are generally looser, more relaxed and flexible. This must be partly at least because they (the poor ones especially) spend their lives sitting on the floor cross legged, squatting to work on a farm, etc. This flexibility helps them shoot leg kick out fast without spending much time in the chamber. The MT kicks are typically slower than karate kicks, but Thais can do them FASTER than a Westerner can perform a MT kick, because Westerners typically have tight hips. We sit in chairs to eat food, like 'civilized' (READ: weakened) human beings. 3) Thais start training at what, 6? 4? If Souwer started Dutch kickboxing at 4 I gamble he would have done better in this fight. Thais are the best partially because MT has been so refined over generations, but also because they train harder, from a younger age, and MORE of them train. So they have more of a talent pool to pick the best contenders from. In the Netherlands, USA, or Japan, what percentage of the population practices kickboxing, karate, or American kickboxing, compared to the percentage of the population in Thailand that practices MT? Buakaw is the best of the best in an impoverished country where many, many young people are motivated to eschew long hours at a desk (like a civilized [READ: weakened] human being) and instead hit the gym every morning and evening. MT is great, but the style itself is only part of the equation of why so few Farangs can beat the Thais.
