Bannanje's parama guru Virupaksha Shastri was the Raja guru of Mysore royal family and he was a desciple of Advaita. Later Bannanje's father Tarka Kesari S Narayanaacharya was declared as his successor to the post of Rajaguru after. But he rejected. If he hadn't rejected, Today Bannanje Govindaacharya would have been the Rajguru of Mysore royal family after his father.
