Humankind is a new, highly popular 4X strategy game, where you build a civilization from neolithic tribes to modern marvels! To make things even more interesting, I'm going to push myself to the limit by turning the difficulty up to maximum. Let's see if I have what it takes!

Yeah. I like Lionheart's channel and started off watching his playthrough but when watching games I've never played, I definitely prefer watching someone who knows what they're doing and his was a true 1st playthrough. So far enjoying this.

I've watched another player recently play on empire difficulty. Man the AI is brutal. I can only imagine how this difficulty will pan out. Good luck dude. I have faith in pravus!

The AI gets crazy resource and growth bonuses. You gotta cheese the combat to thin out their pops in wars and raids. The AI usually generate so much influence they burn though era stars as well. Meanwhile if I get a stack of 4 military units the AI gets at least 3 stacks due to their pop growth. They don't get smarter, in fact, if they don't spam military units their cities end up starving and revolting because they can't figure out how to expand districts and develop cities smart. xD

The science legacy trait might be the best out of them all. That early +1 science per pop can really boom your output, especially early game where +1 is huge as you mostly start of with just 3 from the first city. Ofcourse its less good if you chose Zhou or babylonians, and like MEGA good if you chose harrapans. The difference between +1 science outweights +1 industry imo, because of how district building works and makers quarters gain more

Also, it's worth noting that getting industry from terrain is relatively easy, whereas getting science from terrain is nigh-impossible. That's why I really like Babylonians, their EQ allows to sqeeze out max yields from terrain science and improves food quarters, while their Legacy trait is also a good source of early science.

Good luck with the Ai. Lst time I played Civ it seems to think that establishing a city that overlapped on my city was a good idea,so I was forced to declare war to remove the intruding city.

Humankind difficulty? I hope you're prepared to go to war a lot, as the AI gets all the bonuses on Humankind, including better combat strength. Remember, it's not because they hate you, it's because you're not another AI.

depends on the number of ai. The more there are riskier it gets, bcs you probably won't get the good civ. Also more difficult with higher difficulty

@@olivenkranz You generate the tribal raiders for essentially free in the first era. Keep going until you have a murder ball, then advance eras. They're upgraded to actual military units when you advance eras. Also, it doesn't really matter what civ you get, cause there's another exploit you can do to immediately flesh out a city in 1-3 turns. Liberate the city, the AI will build an addon to the city. Sack it, liberate, AI will build another addon. Sack it, liberate, AI will build another addon. You could be the worst, underpowered civ, but have massive, fleshed out cities by the second Era using this exploit.

I would love for you to do a poll asking how many knew this game was developed by the team who made endless legend and endless space? Because I didn't until I bought it and played and it and realized wait a second this is like a super good civ 6 mod for endless legend lol Not complaining at all. I actually really, really like this game. I just love endless legend and space so much and now I love this. :) But yes, I would love to know how many people knew and how many we're like me and totally clueless but happily surprised.

My first game I did only Mycenaeans and it was so fun. By turn 560 or something I had like 90 percent of the board. It was crazy.

The science choice was 2 science for the rest of the game. So about 300 if you can win the game by turn 150ish.

Y'know, I've heard conflicting reports on that. Someone wrote on Reddit that it's supposed to only last through the neolithic era, but actually goes for the whole game. Haven't tested. Either way, I think it's a trade-off between rapidly increasing population to snowball, or sustained extra 2 science... which isn't a lot, but pretty helpful for the early game. If I had to do it again, I'd probably take the science.

@@PravusGaming For the rapid growing thing. Just staying an extra turn or two in neolithic to grab the food curiosities is much better for that. Unlike what it seems the game doesn't force you to advance and usually you shouldn't until you've taken advantage of the civilization bonuses (unique districts) in any cities you want to build em in.

I've watched your first episode, and while I appreciate your content, the fact that you can just make a 20 tile blob of your first city put me off the game. And that in a few turns you can turn those 20 tiles into 40 tiles. There's a certain pleasure of starting a city with 5-6 tiles and slowly developing your region that I feel in the Civ series that is lost in this game. I'll try to watch the rest of your series to see if there's something that makes this game click for me. I do like the concept that you can start with whatever civ you want and change it throughout the era. Not realistic at all, but a fun concept.

If you wanna add more luxury resources I suggest you find a way to save the randomly generated map and just go to the map editor but it would kinda ruin the whole explore aspect of the game

I realize that I may be in a small minority here (which, if true, would be sad), but I find the idea that switching between civilizations from one era to the next not only being a feature of the base game, but one that seems to be strongly encouraged (seriously, I watched at least one entire LP of this game before I learned that NOT switching civs was even POSSIBLE--when has anyone seen a LPer actually do that?) to be a deal-breaker for me. That sort of thing is fine for a special one-off (ie: "let's play EU4, and I tag-switch randomly every time my ruler dies"), but not for normal play. I'll stick with Civilization, thanks.
