Looking to make your Prawn suit complete? This is a quick gameplay tutorial for finding the best location where you can find the drill arm fragments within the Subnautica game (2018). We will travel West, past the mushroom forest and into the Dunes biome. Within this biome will be a wreck that holds all fragments to construct the long awaited drill arm.

Saw 2 of them because I stupidly got lost in the are and was spamming the seamoth radar. Stayed low to the ground so they swam right over me. Got to the wreck and had to dive obnoxious ass sand sharks, was scanning the drill arm and low and behold theres a damn warper that spawned right the Hell in front of me. Playing on console seems to be spawn glitched or something.

When I first killed one I felt unstoppable Then I died to one of those blood suckers in the Aurora and realized I'm not indestructible and can still be killed by the smallest things

I was watching another of his vids for the powercell charger. The first location was a bust but the second one was a trove of cyclops frags, propulsion cannon frags, prawn suit frags(1 drill arm frag), the alien containment databox, and the swim charge fins box. I even found the repulsion cannon data there. There was so much stuff! Its like that for me for the majority of his vids. I go looking for one thing and theres just all sorts of stuff I wasnt even looking for!

Here’s a tip for avoiding the reaper at that area. If you already got a prawn suit, use it there, but move somewhat slowly. The reaper “sees” by echolocation, so it can’t see you if you a slow boi. I used my prawn suit for fear of losing my sea moth and that tactic worked. I got my drill fragments, got in my cyclops and left 🤣

For the drill arm I would go to another relic, the one below the floating island. There's just about a few warpers and a ghost leviathan, but you won't meet the leviathan if you are cautious. It'd around 400-500m below sea level

Dude you have helped me so much in the game. 20 hrs in and i have everything almost. Needed rupies, sulfur, nickle, aerogel, i have an awesome base 100 meters deep with a landing dock for the cyclops in the tree forest by the auroras nose, mk3 mini sub. Thanks man, I will not be shaken is writen above my office at my command center. Totally prepared for this reaper. Havent seen him since all i had was a buoyancy bag. Ty bro, you got guts.

THIS is why you get a scanner for your Seamoth! Scan the area and you'll be able to see the Reaper Leviathan, then you can safely go under/around it on your sea glider

I actually don’t recommend this. You never want to leave your Seamoth unattended around a reaper, unless you’re going to kill the reaper immediately. If you just try to swim by it, he might find your Seamoth later and destroy it

What I recommend is using the sonar to find the reaper, and then immediately swimming towards it with the sea glide and then stunning it with the stasis rifle, and then hitting it 31x in the back of the head, and repeat.

I actually ended up finding a wreckage towards to right of the entrance to the dunes that had both drill arm fragments so thankfully I didn’t have to face the leviathan yet😅😅thanks for pointing me in the right direction

@@pipipoopoo5418 i found it too, the most dangerous thing nearby was one warper that was far from the wreckage. Just stay on the left of the mushroom forest, and then once you reach the end head right while going down and it should be right there.

TIp: There is a bigger wreck closer to closer so you don't have to go down so far. I found both the drill arm fragments really close to the front, would have explored it further but there was a warped round the back.

Is there another way to get it without encountering reapers? I can deal with any creature besides a reaper and a leviathan ghost. And the only reason I want a drill arm is so I can get magnetite because it seems like I can only find it in giant deposits and not just single pieces in the seafloor.

If you need magnetite then try here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jch3m5ybmqvZiKM.html An alternative location for the drill arms can be found at this wreck/outside. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bseqqZtm296pkok.html But I can't guarantee they will spawn. It's a 50/50 split between drill and grappling. But it's safe. Just beware of warpers

There certainly is. Spawn is not always guaranteed in the Aurora. The crash zone also has reapers. I tend to look at areas numerous times to determine consistent spawns for a particular item 👍

Good stuff. As mentioned the drill arms don't always spawn in the Aurora. It's random with certain locations spawning more consistently and at a higher rate. For example I've completed the game 4 times and on only one occasion I found 1 drill arm in the Aurora. The only parts guaranteed in the Aurora are all parts for the prawn suit. Glad you found them though👍 keep it up man

Lucass not if you play it smart, bring decoy torpedoes with you or if you don’t have them, using slow speed will draw less attention to you and if they get to close turn off your engine and most of the time they will lose interest

I didnt hear that at all. Maybe because I had already heard it way back the very beginning when I first made a seamoth and I was naively driving around. Needless to say when I heard it I knew it was a bad move so I hit a u-turn with the quickness.

everything was to the point and really good, thank u :D ignore the fact that I looked away for a second when I was outside the seamoth and it just disappeared, all I could hear was some angry snakes... but I guess it was a good trade for a drill arm and a grapple arm XD

I Got all of my prawn suit drill arms and all of the grappling drill arms in the same place. What a nice guy u really helped me ty. PS be careful of the reaper leviathans and the space telerporter dudes

There is at least one drill arm fragment at the Underwater Islands wreck. I found one there but someone from Reddit said they found two there so it's worth a shot to look there before going into the Dunes.

Love you man I got the drill arms the second I got there but I realised that I went to far and was left at 5 health by a ghost leviatan but still thank you
