@@ghimie88 It is a very good prayer, but St Francis did not write it. This poem or prayer was found it a French magazine in 1912, and it was assumed the editor wrote it.

@@annieisbilir7658 Sebastian Temple (1928-1997) adapted the text from scripture and wrote the tune, but it does not sound like him singing - different tone and accent. Michael O'Brien has a lovely version also, but this is not him either. Do you know where you got the recording from? This one is very clear and as happens with too many recordings, the vocals here are not lost in the instrumentals. A beautiful production!

@@annieisbilir7658 Thanks Annie. Yes unfortunately, it seems that credit is not given to the performers on any of the AOV recordings, as far as I can see anyway. And after some more research, I have to correct my statement on the composer - it seems the lyrics were first published as a poem in 1912, long after St Francis died (1181-1226). The author is unknown. The prayer was apparently attributed to St Francis because someone wrote it on the back of a picture of St Francis and that's how it came to be called the Prayer of St Francis. St Francis never knew it existed and it was not one of his or the Franciscan's prayers. The poem was adapted to a song by Sebastian Temple, who also wrote the music, but the original name was Make Me A Channel of Your Peace.
