I live in North Central Ohio and remember this snowstorm well. I had to park on a side street when arriving home late afternoon on the 22nd. It snowed all night (at times mixing with sleet and freezing rain) and into the morning of the 23rd. I ended up walking to a store about 1/2 mile from home and it took me nearly 1/2 hour to get there due to the deep snow, which was drifting due to strong winds. On the 24th, I tried to get my car out but the snow had frozen into cakes of ice around it. I had to call my brother-in-law to help me get the car out. What happened next was a mild and very rainy first half of January. Around 6" of rain fell in two weeks on top of all of that snow. Flooding became an issue, and a river overflowed its banks and poured out on a major U.S. highway. That water then froze due to temperatures dropping into the teens and a huge block of ice blocked the highway for several days. A terrible situation and one that I vividly remember nearly two decades later.

I live east of Bedford in Lawrence County and we measured 30" on the flat hayfield. Had a hell of a time feeding cattle.
