Hi @buzzy2587! As with most Americans, my training has been a mix of different schools of ballet, in my case, mostly Cecchetti, so that may be what you are seeing. But I am trying to learn more about the Vaganova school right now, actually. Would you be willing to share specific examples of what you saw that looked incorrect?

This reminds me of a beginners class… nothing is tight/controlled/refined yet- no big deal because you’re doing it for fun & that’s lovely to see. :) If you’d like to learn the precision of real ballet, I HIGHLY highly recommend taking Isabella’s 8 week beginner course. The first two classes alone go over correct posture and they are killer! You could safely throw out everything you thought you knew about plié for instance (you’d learn to engage every muscle, create a fluid line, feel the resistance, etc and you would notice a HUGE difference) You’ll even start to walk differently. On KZfaq, just look up Ballet With Isabella. She’s so wonderful! There is so much to relearn and strengthen but everyone has their own pace… its so much fun ❤ such a game changer!
