Consistent pre Shot routines are a trademark of good shooters. However, when they start to take 20+ seconds before each shot, they need to be modified. Not considerate to fellow squad members to have to watch TOO MUCH of these routines.

Yet George won with exactly zero Pre shot routine. Just in the Shells, say pull and smokes the clays… refreshing and congrats to the greatest shooter ever.

The Brits just get in the stand , call pull and shoot the clay , the Americans tend to be more tense and have long build up routines !

Great vid Nick, it's great watching all the movements and routines pro's have from years of competing. Makes me less conscious of my iterations.

Interesting as a few i believe are longer than the 10sec allowed in the uk cpsa ruling (time limits 2.6)

Great job Nicolas, The motor movements by each shooter stimulate the Right side of the brain which is the unconscious-motor-sensory part for instinctual movement. In short it gets the shoot our of their head and allows flow in their shot. Would be interesting what goes thur there mind (not body) before stepping into the booth. Such as " see the line, lead or no lead, crosser or quartering, fast or slow bird. These are just thoughts. Thanks for what your doing in giving us a visual of it.. It's interesting to see a lot of variation in how high or low on the shoulder the recoil pad is mounted when shooting.

Great Vid! I always wanted to ask Anthony M why he realigns his shells before each shot like a poker player with chips. Just part of his routine I assume.

Anthony is not “aligning “ his shells in the chamber……it is an eye exercise to focus from short range to long range, ie the Target!
