The second part of the S.F. Edge Trophy at the 80th Goodwood Members' Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport was, if anything, even tighter than the first. Would the Darracq 200hp or the Sunbeam Indianapolis? Or could the mighty Fiat S76 Beast of Turin have something to say about it?

Why is it that the oldest cars in the grid ALWAYS gives the most nail-biting finishes? At this point, the S.F. Edge Trophy race already had that reputation! Many thanks again for these race coverages, @Goodwood Road & Racing! They were very much appreciated.

And also think of the sort of impact that these machines made in their heyday. Most, if not every spectator around then simply did know what speed like this on the ground looked and felt like!!

I had a passenger ride in that Darracq many years ago at Brooklands. Even though we weren't at racing speeds I was sure we were going to overturn on the banking. Just bracing yourself trying to stay on board was exhausting. Utterly terrifying machine. :-)

Mark Walker is a beast of a driver. Also his son, its awesome to watch them compete on the VSCC. There are other great drivers like Justin Maeers which are an absolute must to watch! Amazing couple of races for Mark congratulations 🙏🏻👌🏼❤️‍🔥

That Darracq is just amazing. Imagine, a 118 year old "car" that's still enormously competitive. But what happens when the engine breaks a part? It's not exactly like Auto Zone carries OEM parts for it.

This just stresses me out. These historical cars are all the last of their kind, one wrong move and another piece of history is destroyed. Is there not a way to just make functionally & visually identical replicas??

All cars can be repaired. It's the whole ethos of historic racing. These cars were made to be raced.

@@GoodwoodRR Right but when you destroy original parts enough times and continually replace them, at some point you’re not even really driving the same car anymore. I love watching it, isn’t get me wrong, but I’m always at the edge of my seat fearing the worst for these amazing historical cars
