I ask viewers who know additional information to report it in the comments or by mail. What other manufacturers of ampoules do you know? What is their accuracy? Are there more sensitive ampoules?

I watched a video years ago about a simple DIY jig to grind vials for precision levels. Sadly, I can't find it, maybe somebody else can link it in. The details are fuzzy, but here's what I remember. It consisted of a strong beam as a base, 4 threaded eyes, and a straight round steel rod. The eyes were screwed into the beam at certain distances. The rod was put though the eyes and a glass tube symmetrically , something like this: eye - little distance - eye - more distance - tube (in the center) - more distance - eye - little distance - eye The height of two of the eyes were adjusted to give the rod a predefined bend. Grinding pastes were sequentially added to the rod and the tube was ground and polished with a fairly precise curvature.

What you do, Gena is so interesting and enlightening. Entertaining also. Thank you. I was totally unaware of the hysteresis (is that is an accurate way to describe) or “stickiness” of a bubble. I never even considered it. I love learning that kind of lesson. Thank you.

I think that the angle of inclination of the ampoules was changed accurately enough for such an experiment, and some differences in the stopping points of the bubble are associated with some features of the inner surface of the ampoules, or are associated with the action of surface tension forces at the interface of the bubble and liquid.

For example, I intend to bring to excellent condition those worn-out machines that I have. Then I will be able to produce parts with a sufficiently high quality of processing. This is already some production possibility, obtained essentially from worn-out equipment.

Hello! Thank you for your support on Patrion! Because of the war, we now have difficulties, but I have more time, which I can use to create content for KZfaq. Only this work is associated with some expenses, and the channel still brings in insignificant income, it is barely a year old. It’s only the first month since monetization started. Therefore, I ask viewers who find my work useful to support me. Thanks again!

On industry I dont know. But back in the day it was very simple contraption of a metal rod squished between centers jist enough to creare a slight bend radius a glass tube is shoved over that rod and then just lapped in a rottating motion with cerium oxide. Simple contraption to make in any garage. But yours seems to be more repeatable

@@romualdaskuzborskis By methyl, do you mean methanol? I've a bottle of the stuff and it's quite a thin fluid, I must say. Ether must be on another.... level. ;)
@romualdaskuzborskis
@romualdaskuzborskis Жыл бұрын
@@danielkruyt9475 eah, methanol or methyl alcohol (CH3OH). Its quite alright for most aplications. Ether however seems to be so much more fluid that it reacts more precisely (does not "snag" on glass surfaces) and quickly. Although I believe they stopped using it for import simply because its a regulated substance.

Is the English ampoule maybe measuring in Imperial measurements and not metric? Depending on how old it is, it could be thousandths or ten-thousandths of an inch per foot. I trained in mid 1970's, we had to learn inch and millimeters although I didn't work to micron measurements until about 1977~78. It's really interesting to see how measuring is done, the inspection department where I worked was 'off limits' to factory floor.

Hello! The division value on the English ampoule is 0.01 mm at a distance of 1000 mm. I bought this ampoule three years ago from the company that manufactured it.

It does work. I've tried it. I thought I have a photo of the PoC from years ago, but apparently not. My concept was simple: a glass tube, two identical pieces of aluminium, M3 threaded rod and nuts, and some gasket or plug. The Al blocks had a blind hole for the tube and a through hole for the rod, for each. The blocks on the ends held the tube and the rod parallel. With the threaded rod and the nuts, I pulled the blocks together. Since it was an offset force for the tube, it bent a little. I used a low quality glass drinking straw, and didn't bother buying a better tube. Good thing is, it has adjustable sensitivity. For thermal stability though, you need to use the same material for the tube and the tensioner (threaded rod in my test). Shouldn't be difficult.
@gena_bazarko
@gena_bazarko Жыл бұрын
@@besenyeim At my level, the sensitivity of the ampoule is not adjustable. The inclination of the ampoule relative to the support legs is adjustable.
