Compressor and turbine wheel are claimed to be the same yet the gen 2 is a 7 blade compressor wheel as opposed to a 6 blade on gen 1

I was looking at a Gen 2 5558 for my 2010 Speed 3 long-term goals: 500whp and tracking duty. I'm also considering an EFR7163 or a G25-660 instead, as both have water in the CHRA as well (instead of the Precision's oil-only), and it seems like that'd be better for heat management for the abuse of track duty. All of these would have excellent boost threshold, spool, and transient response, which are also key goals for my build concept. What are your thoughts?

I have replacement compressor wheels for them, they are original but they are direct fit for the 6262 and 6266, we have the turbines too. I don’t have the compressor wheels listed but I will get them listed today.

Do you have any upgrades for the precision to4e gt3561e journal bearing turbo???? its an older style turbo but its one of the best turbos ive ever owned.. Do you do rebuilds or any upgrades?

+DsmKen the 3561 has a gt35r compressor 61.4 X 82 and and 62.35 X 68 turbine, it can be converted into 3576 which uses a ptrim 65 X 74 shaft, but I don't stock those shafts. It can also use a t67 compressor 67 X 84 but it can only go so large in the bolt on housing before it causes heat and back pressure problems.

I have a gen2 5558 with ball bearing issue (it have less than 1500miles and generates only 5psi boost with axial play), any garrett bb upgrade?

A common thing that happens with the gen 2 is that people remove the oil feed fitting/ dowel pin, causing the cage and whole rotating assembly to move in and out. That will also cause a problem boosting. The oil feed/ dowel pin is holds the outer race of the cage from spinning. Actually the cages and quality was very good, the only turbine upgrade is the gt37r 64 x 72 or maybe its 64.5 x 72, I can't remember. The compressor wheel options are all the same as to4e and to4s depending on the plate you use and compressor housing, i like the gtx3582r compressor and the t67 billet wheel that we have, the t67 compressor wheel is the same wheel as the gt37r which is good for up to 950 hp.

i have a gen 2 6266 and it needs to be rebuilt. is it possible and a good idea to install a gen1 center cartridge on it?

You can't convert it over to using the Gt37r(Gen1) without changing out the turbine to the 64.5 x 74 gt37r turbine which is smaller, you would need to convert to journal bearing or buy precisions gen2 cage. You should check your first though because I had one customer that had a gen 2 that had a Gen1 bearing Housing but gen 2 shaft and cage and plate. Someone altered the turbo before I think.

Turbo Lab America do you know if the gen 2 is a reliable turbo even if there is no water cooling on it. are you able to have the gen2 bearing for a rebuilt
