They had created a bar, etc, and a rope swing that swung you over the water scene, and you could swim in the exact spot. The reason they all came in firing with no questions is because Mac yelled "Contact"! It's often confused with "Sergeant " in the subtitle. "Contact " mean he sees the enemy and is engaging them.

The reason they all just ran up and started shooting with Mac was because Mac yelled “contact” meaning he had contact with the enemy. So it becomes a shoot first ask questions later type of situation. A lot of people think Mac yelled Sargent because of subtitles but the script clearly says he yelled contact.

Later on comes the Alien vs Predator showdown.

In many Native American tribes, the warriors would cut the chest as a way to say, "this is my heart, the heart of a warrior". He stayed to die not running in fear but standing his ground like a true honorable warrior. This movie did a great job honoring Native American and modern U.S. Military warriors.

Maybe the best thing about the Predator as a monster is that it ISN'T a monster. He's just incredibly skilled as a hunter and wants a fair fight. He has a code of honor and he can think and plan and actually make decisions about what he does. He's not some insane cannibal or alien monster with no thoughts. He's the hunter, and Arnold is the prey.

When the Predator shot Dutch (Arnold) with his plasma canon it hit Dutch's M16 near the receiver-butt area causing minor burns and the bleeding stops when cauterized by the plasm. In the 80s I was a Radio Shack Junkie and built a makeshift entertainment center with so many speakers it took up the wall. I was a DJ then. When This Movie came out on VHS, we had a party and would play the Shooting the Jungle scene so loud with windows open, the cops were called on shots fired. When we showed them what it was they fuckin Freaked Out and made us close the window and Play It Again!

By the time Predator was being filmed, Arnold who was born in Austria, learned how to speak english very well (even with a deep Austrian accent). So, he was given many more lines than in Terminator.

Great movie

The Predator’s suits were so heavy, the men who wore them trained on a beach in dry sand, carrying sand bags for weight. These guys were also large men to begin with, especially tall. As an example some of them were 6’7”, 7’1”and 7’5” respectively. Aliens vs Predators is an excellent movie, and explains a lot more. The Predators have always been my favorite alien. They’re big, bad, very intelligent, and I really love the costume with the braids. Great reaction, brothers as usual. Y’all are so entertaining to watch. 😊

At 43:20, it wasn't a weak-ass laser. The laser hit Arnold's weapon. Not him. The rifle was destroyed and exploded, injuring Arnold. He was lucky. He would have gone out just like Jesse if it hadn't hit the gun.

Proper action film, like Spielbergs Jaws, you don’t see the bad guy until near the end of the movie, just tension build up.

Ok I know most people will tell you Not to watch All the Predator Movies…. However if you love the Predator and the world etc… You Two Must watch Predator 2 from the 90s Predators from I believe 2010?? The Predator (2018 and the one that gets the most hate even though I still think it’s not a horrible movie just a victim of studio politics etc) And Finally Prey 2020 which I think is the best movie since the First… possibly better than the first… I know sacrilege….🤣 Also you must watch Predator Vs Aliens and Predator Vs Aliens Requiem… They all give you more info on the predators their gadgets their beliefs etc… there’s also an entire world of books, comic books, and video games that are Awesome😀🫶🏻🫶🏻
