Me being 17 and having a dad who watched this movie and played this game before loosing his eye sight, it's crazy that I've just found and bet Contra a few months ago and seeing the movie a few years ago, it's amazing seeing this video can bring me and my dad close together, even after how long it's been since he lost his eye sight he still enjoyed being able to help me bet the game and me being able to help him relive his childhood. Contra is the unofficial Alien vs Predator NES game

The second I played *Contra* back in my youth, I immediately felt like I was playing a *Predator* game.

It's funny, but the first time I played Contra when it came out on NES, I thought "Hey, that guy looks like Arnold...hey, this jungle level looks like Predator!"

This was made specifically for men born in the early eighties.

I see what you did there! Initial jungle scene - Stage 1 "the jungle" theme Falling down into the water - Stage 3 "the waterfall" theme Arnold getting himself covered with cold mud - Stage 5 "snow field" theme Arnold flexing his muscles - Stage 6 "the energy zone" theme Scenes with the Predator (an alien) - Stage 8 "alien's lair" theme Final fistfight - Contra "Boss theme" Watching the chopper arrive - Contra "end credits" theme. Good work! Especially the ding, ding, ding on trees!

Good pick for the match up if I'm not mistaken Contra's Bill Rizer is based off of Arnold's character in Predator and Lance Bean is supposed to be based off of Stallone's character in Rambo.

The American Nintendo Contra cover uses traced stills of Arnold Schwarzenegger from the movie Predator, which have then been slightly altered to resemble Contra's Bill and Lance. Bill is traced from the home video cover while Lance is traced from a scene in the movie. Bill is made to resemble Arnold's "Dutch" from Predator and Lance is made to resemble Sylvester Stallone's Rambo.

Every time I played Contra as a kid, I always felt like I was in the Predator movie...

Ironically when Contra came out in the West (under the name Gryzor), the promotional poster showed a guy doing the same pose Arnie does in the Predator poster.
