After tons of planning and hard (part-time) work I finished this chicken coop, appropriately named “Fort Flox”. The amount of overkill that went into the construction and predator-proofing of it is excessive by even my standards. In addition to making safety/security a top priority, I also did my best to make sure they have everything needed to keep them healthy and happy. Lastly, I wanted this to be as low-maintenance as possible so I included a rainwater catchment system, high capacity/zero mess feeders, and a deep litter system for creating future compost. While it cost just over $1,500 to make, it would’ve cost much more without some of the crafty ways I saved money, which I was sure to include in this tour. Hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it!
