Predator is a 1987 American science fiction action film directed by John McTiernan and written by brothers Jim and John Thomas. It is the first installment in the Predator franchise. It stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as the leader of an elite paramilitary rescue team on a mission to save hostages in guerrilla-held territory in a Central American rainforest, who encounter the deadly Predator (Kevin Peter Hall), a technologically advanced alien who stalks and hunts them down.
Predator was written in 1984 under the working title of Hunter. Filming ran from March to June 1986 with creature effects devised by Stan Winston; the budget was around $15 million. 20th Century Fox released the film on June 12, 1987, in the United States, where it grossed $98.3 million. Initial reviews were mixed, but the film has since been reappraised as a classic of the action genre.
The success of Predator spawned a media franchise of films, novels, comic books, video games, and toys. It spawned three direct sequels: Predator 2 (1990), Predators (2010) and The Predator (2018), and an upcoming installment in preproduction. A crossover with the Alien franchise produced the Alien vs. Predator films, which include Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007).

Correction Riddik's eyes were never luminescent In the Riddick series, his eyes possess an intense, predatory shine in low light, giving them an otherworldly and menacing aura. I like the idea/ theory that Riddick was most likely a companion of some sort, like the bond forged in AVP, between the hunter and Lathan. It would make sense that that's where he really got the eyes he has, over the lie he told Jack's about how he did. The predators are known for genetic augmentation and self-evolution, to be better hunters.

The Riddick story I like is that after foster care he went Military and easily got into Specal Forces. A fey tours in he gets a Politically Appointed Lieutenant who tried to SA to young girls. Riddick killed/beat-the-shit-out-of that Politically Appointed Lieutenant. One bribed Court Marshal and Riddick is in a Jail. One Assassination attempt later and Riddick is on the run.

Pretty sure Riddicks eye shine is a process he did not a trait he was born with according to pitch black. The bald headed girl passing herself off as a boy talked about it in the movie.

Don't forget, in chronicles of Riddick, kira/jack stated that he was lying because she tried to find someone to give her the surgery and couldn't find anyone with the ability to do it. In other lore, a character named Shira "unlocked" his eye-shine saying, "you've been blind for too long" while he was in prison.

I just so happened to see a video on this right before reading your comment lol. It said tht the Yautja were a very technological race until the Engineers frm the Prometheus movie infected them with tht black goo. The Yautja didn't die from it like the Engineers thought they wld but it made the Yautja stronger and more Savage and they cld no longer develop new technology but were able to maintain the technology tht they had. I probably didn't explain it right but thts close, didn't expect to have to retell the story 😂

Yes a Part II to Prey in which she trains others in the tribe to defend against the Predators. She has a child which she gives the gun to, because he too becomes a great warrior against a more advanced Predator. Many tribes have come together with her son as the leader. They've learned much from the last Predator, and now use his weapons against the new Predator, but soon her son alone must fight this greater evil, but in the end losses to the newer more advanced Predator, his spoils are his head and the gun which the Indian used as a last ditch effort to try and save himself, but failed, so the Predator takes it too as a trophy. The spoils of war!
