@@veroniquejeangille8248 That is interesting and sounds like "voluntary manslaughter" in the U.S. And I'm certainly not an attorney, but I think since she intentionally set a fire that inadvertently cause the death of someone it may qualify as "voluntary manslaughter." If she had accidentally set the fire, that would become "involuntary." In America, when someone chooses to drink and drive and causes the death of another, I believe that is considered voluntary because they chose to get behind the wheel while intoxicated. Hope that makes sense!

@kotorisama3080 she was 18, she was not a child, she was an adult and could have left. There was no excuse for what she did. I didn't hear anything about how this guy forced her to do any of this stuff. They didn't say he threatened her, or forced himself onto her, or even not let her leave. Feels like maybe she allowed herself to go along with it, and maybe she grossed herself out with what she was participating in and wanted to "delete" the only people who knew about it. She had every opportunity to leave. The actual innocent kids in the situation were the children she murdered by burning them alive. Not to mention, somehow, she's the only one who survived and made it out of the house.

They were innocent then but with parents like they had they could have been abused by their parents and end up as vile as they were. Maybe they were being sexually abused then. No proof, however, but it would not appear to be uncommon as they grow up. Simply find this exploitation of children too awful to contemplate. Cindy had apparently been permanently destroyed by early abuse. I can't imagine how awful that was. No real excuse for their deaths. She should have been imprisoned in a mental health treatment prison.

@@margaretcastell9429 What you just said is one of the most disgusting and vile things I've heard someone say. For you to actually say that the children were innocent at the time BUT probably would've ended up as vile as their abusive parents. so youre basically saying that they likely wouldve deserved being burned alive because hypothetically in your head they likely would've committed abuse towards children in the future? The vast majority of children who are abused don't end up abusing children when they grow up. You said that as if it wasn't that bad what Cindy did to them. I'm beyond words for how sick of a statement that was.

Because a young person doesn't always understand the options they have often fearing the unknown over the known. I know someone this almost exact thing happened to- very similar situation. Almost similar results. Mental damage changes how a young person thinks. They may even think similarly to their offenders.

I am surprised how many people here have believed Cindy White's explanation. Could she not have simply walked away if things were that bad? I have read online that one psychiatrist who examined her at the time of the trial claimed she was a hysterical neurotic and was given to making up and exaggerating stories.

@@pamelamathis6515I have heard of them so apparently so has she. Sorry but she brutally murdered 4 innocent children. There were a hundred different choices she could have made and she chose to set a fire to a house full of children. She's right where she belongs. I'm sorry if her story is true it still doesn't justify what she did.

The world needs to do a much better job of protecting our children. Most of the people who end up in prison and many who end up in long term psychiatric care have been terribly abused as children, and quite often people knew, and could have intervened but did not. If you suspect a child is being mistreated please please please tell someone in authority.
