Very nice clear concise thoughts, I've been predicting very similar things myself. Especially the "characters who were supposed to die will have to die", I think that a Zack death at the end of part 3 is gonna hit hard. I'd love if they manage to pull this off while still creating a cohesive experience for people new to FF7

Part 2 has made it clear that cloud's mind is actually in a worse state in remake than it was in og.. part 3 is gonna be grief. The red hairings being put in are brilliant, it gave us a sense that we can change things but actuality it's not... my theory is, from observation is imo, were seeing from clouds final moments on hos death bed. Fighting to change, trying to presserve his mind for the last time but sephiroth still lingers through his memory. And aerith is fighting with cloud as she waits for him to join before the degradation puts him to sleep forever.

The answers are already there. Just dig through the official compilation and you can see the story clear as day. Parallel worlds, Lifestream White, Lifestream Black. Geostigma. The gray morality of Shinra (and the bastard sons). The advancements and horrors of science. The doom and hope of such a fragile existence. Hopes, Dreams, Honor. Mind, Body, Soul. The three friends. Loveless. The Edge of Creation. When worlds collide. It all makes sense when you actually take in the compilation. Also, not a sequel. It makes so much more sense when you ditch that frame of reference. Think of the Lifestream as an everlasting concept. All information that has or ever will exist is contained within. RE:make project is just an organization of said stream. I've always been adamant that the Remake Project was initially a 4 part project. Remake, Rebirth, (what I believe pt 3 will be) Regenesis, and the final mystery piece... Reunion. The past has already happened, the end of the remake trilogy will "sync" up with Advent Children. The same story beats.... Everything til the end of Core is canon, Everything from the opening credits of Advent is canon. Parts of Before are canon, all of Dirge is canon. The abridged reality is EVERlasting. I continue to be impressed by the Remake project and I hope the devs have a better grasp on the lore than I who hasn't even (personally) read the novels, played Before or First SOLDIER, or even cared about anything other than the OG (Core was OK but schlocky OK)

I predict that Jenova will shapeshift into someone in our party (similar to the whirlwind maze) and kill Aerith and then change multiple times (into Sephiroth and beyond potentially). We keep seeing events moved up in the timeline. This makes a lot of sense to me 🤷‍♂️

I got a feeling it's going to all be a 'Sephiroth was actually right' by the end of part 3 and that we were all wrong about him and his purpose. We don't know him. They're going to make us conflicted about ending him, but it would be too late. The fates are cruel. No one can escape their fate. But whatever happens, the ending won't be the same.

1:28 "why are you lying to me" ? they didn't lie tho unless you skipped the final trailers there is no reason to not expect that ending since we even saw Sephiroth using meteor on that final trailer also the Specters were already in the previous trailers and changing things all over the game as well

Having the universe bend back over itself so that bad things happen if people don't die is one of the worse places I think they could take this. I'm fine with Aerith dying again simply because that's the way things ending up playing out and her getting unlucky. but as son as they start going, Aerith and Zack "need to die" and trying to stop death is bad they are messing up. The universe isn't trying to balance the good and bad in this world and the whole cliche of timetravelling always having a downside is too overdone.

I guess I’m in the minority here but I think one of the greatest things they did with Remake was making it a sequel as well. I was happy with how it ended and wanted more. However this trilogy ends I’m here for it regardless of who lives or dies.

The ending of remake put me in a bad mood for a whole week. It completely undermined the themes of coping with grief and loss found in the original game.

Characters are already dealing with loss ? Yuffie losing Sonon ? What is a good way to make Zack and Aerith deaths impactful? Making you believe you CAN change it ! I believe you're going to see Zacks story similar to FF8 Laguna where it's segmented. Also I'm HUGELY against Tifa being killed. Tifa does not matter in the big picture.
