Back in 1976 we did our coils by HAND Wrapping and the SPREADER was the " O L D JUMPING JACK " style. It also needed (2) men to STOMP, and it took forever. Our looping machine was homemade, but worked just fine. By the Mid 80's we were buying our coils from Mexico. HUGE Savings, but Three weeks would have been considered HOT RUSH!!!! LOL. As you know you could also CHEAT, by cutting coils OUT and NOT have to rewind the stator. We didn't own a VPI tank for the first 10-yrs. Always had to farm it out to the competing shop. I retired 6-yrs ago now, but still enjoy seeing PROGRESS... GREAT Facility. Mate. ;-)
