The area of ​​the stronghold, located on a flat hill overlooking the Nida River valley, is currently surrounded by two lines of earth embankments visible (especially in aerial photos). Perhaps there was also a third external embankment during the period of the settlement, but its remains are not visible in the field. On the southern side, the structure was damaged as a result of quarry activity. Recent archaeological research of the stronghold, conducted since 2011, has allowed us to connect the site with the people of 'The Przeworsk Culture' (Iron Age). Interestingly, during the excavations, among the ornamental artifacts (pins, pendants), 6 Roman coins were also discovered, dating from 106 BC to approximately 175 AD. The most interesting and unique find, however, is a silver barbarian coin, quite clumsily imitating a Roman denar from the 2nd century. All the discovered monuments - in the absence of later objects - allow us to assume the time frame of the settlement's functioning for the period from the younger phase of the early period of Roman influence (200/180 BC) to the late period of Roman influence (325-375 AD) or even to the early period of migration of peoples ( 375-450/475 AD). Probably due to its safe location on the western tip of the Pińczów Hummock, this place was used again in the early Middle Ages. There was a Slavic settlement here between the 8th and 13th centuries. Probably in the western part of the site, a conical stronghold surrounded by an earthen embankment and a palisade was built.
