No need to wish. premierbodyarmor.com/products/stratis-shield-level-iii. No need for level 4. The increase in weight is not worth it. Our level III will stop 99% of rifle threats and all handgun and shotgun threats.

Own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as the founding fathers intended.

This is more than double the surface area of a standard 10x12 plate and under 4lbs. Defeats pistol rounds which is probably what you would encounter with a break in. Extremely intriguing, this is a great piece of gear.

Nope. It's a ballistic shield. It stops bullets from entering your body...

SWAT teams use ballistic shields too. Why not give yourself every advantage in a tactical situation. The only caveat is that you need to be able to shoot accurately with one hand.

@@MattU4970 I hear you. I think your average individual is going to be using two hands to operate their firearm (AR-15, semi-auto pistols, shotguns). Why not wear standard armor so you have both hands free? Maybe I could see giving this to anyone not operating a firearm to protect themselves. I just don’t see anyone navigating their house with this and a flashlight during a home invasion.

@@compositetiger Yup. I have an AR500 plate carrier with Level III+ plates. I could use my AR-9 with one hand (it has a green laser) but two hands on the weapon are always better than one when it comes to stability.

Steel would be significantly heavier and spalling would be a concern. The shield is made of Polyethylene allowing it to be exceptionally lightweight and no concern with spalling.
