This will sound defeatist but no matter what happens whether we finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd this is all I have ever wanted from my club. It should be all any supporter (not fan = there is a difference) should want from their club. From the top down I see my club making the decisions no matter how small or big to make us better. To give us the best possible chance to win the next game. Seeing players actually trying, to win the next header, the next tackle, make the next pass. They are human, they can make mistakes, they can have bad days like us which means bad games, sometimes their teammates can rescue the game and pull something out of the fire to salvage a point and sometimes not. When its not the fans will leave early, they'll claim the race is over but supporters will keep believing, its not out of delusion, its out of believing we are moving forwards from the days when "top 4 is a trophy". No one should expect to win any football match, games have never and will never be won on paper. All we should ever want and expect is try to win the next football match. Chelsea fans are down in the dumps right now and while largely it will be about the result but it will hurt the fans more about the performance, the desire, the hunger. There are ways to lose a football match and that wasn't it. Been on the other end of enough bad results from Chelsea over the years.
