In this tutorial I show you how to use some of the advanced tools in Adobe Premiere Pro to make your video look a whole lot better!
Colour correction and colour grading are essential if you want your video to look professional. Since your video will likely be watched on many different devices with many different screens, chances are it will look slightly different to everyone.
To optimise the quality of the image for everyone, you can use some of the tools inuilt into Premiere Pro to analyse the colour in your video and adjust them accordingly. This also avoids making incorrect decisions that can arise from your own monitor not representing the colour accurately.
Full written version of the tutorial: www.surfacedstudio.com/tutoria...
In this tutorial we will cover:
The Waveform Monitor - Shows you the luma (brightness) distribution in your image. Ideal for analysing and correcting the exposure of your image.
The RGB Parage - Like the waveform monitor, but with 3 different displays, one for each colour channel. Great for adjusting white balance and identifying incorrect colour tints and hues in the image.
The Vectorscope - Shows the colour distribution in your image. Great for adjusting for colour shifts and, using the skin tone line, the best tool to ensure that your skin colours are represented accurately.
All questions, comment and feedback welcome :)

I watched tutorial after tutorial, googling different search terms to find a color correction tutorial that: a. made sense; b. used the scopes; c. TAUGHT me how to use the scopes; and c. wasn't painfully boring to watch. You have one of the best color correction tutorials on the web for correcting within PP (if there's a better one I haven't found it). Thank you so much for such a helpful and concise video! You jumped my color skill forward by a huge leap with just this one video. THANK YOU!

I just have to say I really enjoyed your tutorial! I have been looking for something like this for a long time - I am red/green colourblind (like 10% of males across the world) so, as you can imagine, colour correcting is damned near impossible for me to do effectively. These Premiere tools can help me to see exactly what is going on with the colours in my project without needing to rely solely on my eyes. Thanks again mate!

You are welcome Dan, glad to hear you found the tutorial helpful! I can only imagine how tricky it must be to colour correct if you're red/green colour blind - hopefully all the cool tools in Premiere Pro will make your life a little easier :)
