What they will do is, put inadequate versions of this style gameplay (PS2 era arcade sports games) within "simulation" sports games every 2-4 years and act like they revolutionized sports gaming as they charge money for better players. Hopefully the NFL arcade game ends up being worthwhile but damn I expect it'll be as unfair and expensive as MUT.

I think a lot of it is they don’t really have to. Sports games and a lot of games in general make so much money on the pay to win/microtransaction online gaming that they don’t really have to put time and effort into making creative games anymore

I worked on this game. It's crazy to see people playing it all these years later. Go to move was that step back and everyone always jumped thinking you're gonna shoot them just go around them and dunk. Also, when dudes are jumping from mad far away, you can run in front of them while they're in the air and take the charge. People would get SOO mad when I'd do that.

@@alexhunt5311 Funny story, original Ballers logo looked a lot like the Ruff Ryders logo. They just turned the R into a B for Ballers. Well, during E3 some dudes came through with Ruff Ryders jackets rumor had it that they made us take down our signage mid show. I for sure saw the guys in the jackets but never saw anything that was said. But I remember shortly after E3 we changed to the cursive logo you see now. I got to play this NBA Ballers before it was released to the public at the 2002/3 All Star weekend in LA. They had a huge booth and alot of us kids were playing the demo so hyped. My dad took me there. Good times man

These games are really the continuation of the NBA JAM games by its creators. Acclaim and Midway both had rights to it but Midway couldn’t use the name JAM. So they went on to make Hangtime and Showtime at the arcade then Midway stopped making arcade games and we got Hoopz then the 4 Ballers games. Acclaims NBA JAM games weren’t as good and none were arcade cabinets.
