Hey Paul!!! I'm so confused!! I found a bare root Joseph's Coat climbing rose today, and I LOVE climbing roses. I live in Central Florida, and it's been 80 degrees here for a week- so I have my hole dug, and I watched your video about planting bare root roses, and am I to understand that I should bury the bud union 2"? You are the only gardener who says to bury it 2", everyone else says to keep the union 2" above. Did I misunderstand you? This is my first bare root rose and I don't want to screw it up. Thanks!

My advice is bury the bud union no matter where you live. Many in Fla say to keep it above ground because some buy roses on a different rootstock then most of the country uses. But go ahead and bury it.
