Guys you should get used to follow the PAPI lights from the begining until a safe landing can be achieved in the TDZ and the proper glidepath and lateral guidance if its an instrument approach so that it naturally comes on the real life. Cheers and awesome graphics! Looks better than in real life.

A nice review and yes, this Carenado aircraft deserves to be on my disk. I have my opinion about Carenado which seems to be similar to yours. You left out that mess of an FMC that they put in and replaced it with the GTN - I did that too but on my initial try&fly I did not want to use additional payware. The A/P needs some attention and as I tested on 1.1 I sure hope that 1.2 might fix some of them (such as IAS mode). Stall tests at 2500 ft above ground 😉 you trusted that aircraft as I can see. Thanks!

Hello! I am building a full deck for the SAAB340 and already have the LES model and that works fine. But some important things are not modeled such as AP bank angles, testing panels, etc. I've hear alot of negative on Carenado, besides I am trying to see how their 340B model is. Do you still think it's a good buy? I mean the Carenado. Thanks!

This is a great video. I'm not an flight sim user, so I'm not in a position to compare with other, similar products. But I do have acouple of observations to make. 1. You mention that you're comparing it to a 340A simulation from another maker. At this time I'm fairly sure that Loganair's only 340A airframes have been converted to freighters. All their passenger units are 340B models. I know that it's an imaginary aircraft because the registration isn't a real one, but given the very nice up to date paint job. But I'm nit-picking (sorry). 2. You mention turning on the ground power, and sadly the simulation hasn't been programmed to show a GPU. This brings up my issue. The power unit would be parked almost directly behind the exhaust of the righthand (number 2) engine. This is because the GPU plugs into the aircraft fuselage just behind the right wing. Therefore when starting from ground power a 340 always starts engine 1 first. Then the power unit is detached and removed from the vicinity before engine 2 gets the go ahead from ground personnel. Sorry for being pedantic, but isn't that kind of what simulation enthusiasts are all about? ;-)

Nice video and nice review. Just one personal note - it would be great if you also took a look on the inbuild FMS, because that's the area carenado are insanely weak at. I have bought the carenado S550 + Navigraph expansion, only to realize that the FMS cannot do airways.... Taking this question out of the picture by strapping another 70$ replacement might not be the best way for a "full review" ;)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I didn't cover the FMS on purpose because it is the same one in all the carenado aircraft. It would have been a distraction from this beautiful plane, hence I left it out.

Great video! I just bought this aircraft for FSX but all of the SHIFT shortcuts are blank (black) along with all the cockpit switches clicking sound not working. Just wondering if you would know if there was a certain process of installing it because I think I may have done it wrong...

For the first time I will disagree with you on a review. This aircraft has poorly modeled systems, you never exceed engine parameters, CTOD / Autocoarsen not modeled. LES is a much higher representation of the real thing (I own both). I have removed it from my system... I would never recommend this unless for someone who does not care about systems.

Close but haven flown in real world Saab 340s, the sounds are not accurate. Fix is use the sounds from Skysong Soundworks for the Saab 340.

Can you say exactly how you got the GTN750 to be where you have it (in place of the MFD). Running setup aircraft from the Add-On menu doesn't let me put the 750 where you have it.

Why is the Carenado planes in P3d better than what we get in X-Plane 11? Not even the Flight Factor A320 is worth the price as the texture modeling is awful compared to how it looks in P3d

You have to purchase the GTN from Flight1.

Jonas von Ahlen Then you install it. You have to run the gtn exe from the aircraft folder. Of course after GTN is installed and configured on your pc.

The review misses an essential point in my view. No mention whatsoever of the broken FMC! To me it is a deal breaker, really, as it makes navigation very difficult. Otherwise I agree it is a nice aircraft overall, but for a potential "buyer" it would have been nice to mention the close-to-useless FMC.

Flew the SAAB for 3-years without an FMC...Not really necessary for flying the SAAB

@@B1900pilot Of course you can fly without an FMC, but in this day and age... Moreover, from a commercial point of view, the addon here is definitely missing something in my opinion....

@@CaptainNav We had some airplanes that were brought on from another operator that had UNS-1 FMS...The company deactivated them for fleet commonality...FMS is a nice tool, but never found it to be essential to flying in the northeast of the US...Flew the 1900 for 3000 hours with NO autopilot:-)

@@CaptainNav Good channel that you have btw...learned alot from your vids...old dog, new tricks! Addendum; SAAB was never intended to have an FMS as originally designed, but instead to use old school RNAV, which we had in the DASH-8-100 until they finally put a UNS-1 in them. The old RNAV was no longer supported by Rockwell-Collins...Had to get new Radars in them also...Alas, they're retired now...Flew the Q-400 with the UNS-1L with WAAS...I think I flew ONE GPS approach in 2-years! Still mostly ILS's, but I foresee this gradually changing to more SBAS-based approaches worldwide...EWR has GLS which uses LAAS. Still requires ground-based facilities, but nothing like you need for a full-ILS installation. Compass locators are all but gone now, and With ADS-B things are going to change RAPIDLY...

Carenado has always said they are recording accurate sounds but they always deliver useless sounds, the aircraft always has this unrealistic sound. All their Turboprops have the same sounds in terms of engine. they don't sound different at all. Tell me i'm lying.
