Hello everyone,
Today's video is one inspired by the fact that I've finished my first week of doing supply teaching in the UK. I'll go over how to prepare for supply teaching, as well as give you tips for trial days. These tips will also show you how to be professional during supply and (who knows), increase your chances of getting a vacancy there in future.

Hi ! I’m going to apply this year . Can you give some more information about the part of the interview where you had to use an object? What did you have to do did you have to design a lesson plan ? What did you do have to do with the object ? My second question is lesson plans, I would love to no more about them one day when you have time to write about it !

@@shana9671 Hi Shan, I didn't have this activity to do in my interview. All interviews, both for jobs and to get into teacher training do different things, the school has a lot of flexibility really! Hi, I was wondering if one is able to survive in the UK as a supply, without any other source of income...? I'm looking at secondary school supply from the next academic year after working at the same school for the past 10 years, but I'm quite worried... Any advice? 😭

It really depends on the location you're in really and the roles you're given. If you're given long term supply positions, it'll be much easier than waiting at the phone every morning in case of a call. I'd apply to multiple agencies or look at their roles which have longer durations. In terms of the yes or no answer you're looking for, it'd be impossible for me to generalise that, sorry xx

How would you find out about a school if you're called at 7am and have to get ready and set off ASAP? this is something I worry about because I like to have information about what I'm doing as I'm neurodivergent. I'm starting supply in September and I'm starting to feel anxious about this aspect.

Hi Sara, it's a great question and one that has certainly made me reluctant for daily supply. In those situations, it's tricky to research the website etc beforehand, but you should go in as early as possible and try and get debriefed. They should also have information at the office about safeguarding, key individuals to report to etc. If you're new to the school, you'd hope that you'll receive thorough supply notes from the teacher too. Let me know how it goes! X

Hello, I have my first TA job interview followed by a trial day in Year 1. My task is to lead an activity bringing my own resources for any subject I am comfortable with. I have no clue what to do and want to lead an actvity that I can differentiate, not spend money for and leave a good lasting impression. Any tips and advice I really want this job badlyy x
