Good tips! One thing you didn't mention is to adjust your tire pressures for the track - check with the manufacturers recommendation it's usually a good starting point at least. Will make a big difference and it's free! 😉

Thanks mate. I have some 3,500 ks on the rear tyre now, hit a rock that bent the front rim so I naturally replaced the front. One of my riding mates, who doesnt ride super hard, just replaced his at close to 8,000ks would you believe.

Heya! What's the good reason to put on Sport mode on your bike? Instead of Race.
@TheBikeStig2 жыл бұрын
I'd recommend you take a look at the User Settings video on this channel. There is a downloadable PDF in the notes that tells you exactly what the differences are across al of the modes. For me, I'd use Sport mode on a range run with my buddies on street tyres where the tyres are not getting super hot. Riders often think if they put it in Race they will go faster, nothing could be further from the truth. We choose settings to suit the type of riding we will do, the type of tyres fitted and also how hot the tyres will get. I know of quite a few people who have crashed riding ranges fast on a road race style tyre in slick mode not realising their tyres are not hot enough and more TC intervention might have helped them avoid their high side. Check that video out and grab the download mate, might be useful.

Hi is braided brake lines important? I am planning to change my pad first.
@TheBikeStig2 жыл бұрын
All of the newer sports bikes come with braided lines to the best of my knowledge, so replacing them with an after market brand won't necessarily do anything unless you are bypassing ABS or something like that. If you do have rubber lines, then for sure get some braided ones. My experience with rubber lines, particularly as they get older, is they contribute to a spongy feel when braking because they expand so you don't get the same stopping power and feel you get with braided. Hope that helps mate.

Valuable information 😃 Would it be possible for yourself to discuss suitable helmet options for track day's 🤔 Good vision Would be essential & optical lenses worn inside helmets can be at times less than helpful 🙃

We use Kabuto helmets at the superbike school here in Australia and NZ. It's actually the first helmet I've used on track that I didn't need to put foam into on the forehead so I could see clearly around corners. They also come with grooves specifically designed for glasses. Worth taking a look.
