We are so excited to announce the newest addition to our Chinpals herd: welcome Finn! 🤍

Finn is a 7 year old mosaic male chinchilla who came from a follower also located in Ohio. She contacted me weeks ago explaining her situation and how she'd love for Finn to join our herd. This particular situation seemed to check all the boxes that I had been mulling over for years.
For those years, I'd said I did not want any more chinchillas, (which was and is still true haha) but there was a large part of me that wanted a white or mosaic. However, I mostly decided to adopt Finn because I wanted to give Knox a chance to bond with another. Finn is around the same age and already had a nice, affectionate personality, so I had a good feeling about the two of them.
This is also going to give me a chance to show how I would acclimate a new chinchilla to myself and our environment and to document the bonding process between Finn and Knox. It's something I've helped a lot of people with (after the several, treacherous months that were bonding Henry and Chip...) over message, but not been able to share video with of what I was describing. Hopefully their bond will be smooth and easy, but if not, of course Finn will get to enjoy his life with us in his own large cage and Knox back in his. For now though, having the cage split is going to be the easiest way to get them comfortable with each other's smells and sounds!
