This is so great. I've had two hospital babies and three unassisted at home. My mom was present for my first home birth, only my husband for the second and during the most recent one in January I was all alone in my bathroom. The last one was my favorite by a large margin! Nobody to watch me, nobody to ask me questions. It was absolutely perfect and beautiful. I turned it completely over to the Lord and experienced so little pain and absolutely no stress or panic. It was only an hour long. It was the first birth that left me wanting to do it again instead of feeling terrified. I do best completely unobserved.

Girl. I am SO proud of you for saying the truth so bluntly and unmovingly. You're the only voice I'm hearing tell women what they actually need and don't need, what to watch our for at the hospital in lieu of blind trust, and speaking out for real women. More please! Brain dump all the knowledge in your beautiful mind, we need to hear it. God bless you!

I had 2 awful hospital deliveries and 3 homebirths. After the hospital deliveries I decided I couldn't do any worse by myself. And I was determined to do it my way. When I went into labor I made my bed up put a plastic mattress cover over it and made it up again with sheets I had gotten at a thrift store. After the delivery we just rolled up the plastic mattress cover with the soiled sheets and put it in the garbage. During labor I was up doing whatever I wanted, ate, drank. My labors have all been about 6-7 hours long with no real uncomfortable contractions until the last 45 minutes. Post-partum was a breeze. Breastfeeding went perfectly. I would say that you are absolutely doing the right thing. Babies come when babies are ready. Mine were all from 9 to 17 days "late". 😊

Fellow catholic mama here, I loved hearing you speak on this topic. It can be very controversial but it’s the most natural thing a woman can do. I had two unnecessary C-sections. I’m hoping when I’m pregnant with baby #3 I can have a natural vaginal birth I’ve always dreamed of. Praying for you and having a safe delivery.

I’ll be 42 weeks tomorrow and have also chosen to do my own prenatal care and birth undisturbed. I’ve had no trouble quieting my mind throughout my pregnancy but being “over due” can really wear you out. I enjoyed watching and relating so much. Thanks for sharing your wisdom!

I was 42 weeks with my last and everything went wonderfully. Took a swig of castor oil and went into labor an hour later 😂 baby came fast a furious. There is so much fear behind being “late” but obviously baby just isn’t ready yet. Good luck on your birth ❤

All of my babies came around 42. With my first, my midwife advised to induce it with castor oil at 41+3. That was a bad decision, I was tired and weared out when I rechached active labour. With my two other they both came 42+ and they were fine, labours were better however more painful but that was because their head were displaced a little bit.

I feel like you are my soul sister! I am on the same page as you with everything. This is my first child and my family thinks I am putting myself and my child in danger by avoiding the medical system however I feel the total opposite. I feel I’m putting us in danger if I allow myself to be in their “care”. God bless. Wishing you a lovely delivery.

God bless you and your family ❤ You aren’t crazy! Birth does not need to be medicalized. And often times “more care” doesn’t actually mean “lower risk/better off”. Trust God and the instincts He gave you. You’ve got this, Mama! God is our strength and our refuge. If you haven’t already, HIGHLY recommend reading Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth, the testimonies she includes are excellent. And there are many homebirth videos here on YT that show birth as it can (and should) be. Prayers for you for a smooth and inspiring birth and easy and restful postpartum. God bless ❤

Bless you guys! I'm only 2 months pp with my fifth baby, and I'm already excited about #6 if God chooses! With each pregnancy I've realized how little interventions I want, even with midwives and homebirths, and with my last it sealed the deal. I was put on a time line after my water broke and was stimulated (although naturally) to make it go faster. Sure it was my longest labor but by only 30 minutes, and I ended up with a tear for the first time since my first baby because baby wasn't positioned properly. It sealed the deal for me, I don't need them here anymore and I'm sure if I would have just listened to my body and gone about my day, it would of been better. I'm also a retired nurse! I'll be praying for your family!

Hi. Fellow RN here. OB for 23 years. Love your channel and choices! So glad I found it! I survived hospital nursing somehow as I’m not a pharmaceutical or intervention fan etc. I support all natural and have assisted many women to have a drug free and unrestrained movement birth as possible (and vax free babies) But I’m curious if the midwives you’ve experienced are actually more Doula trained than actual midwife. I’ve been present with both. Doulas can be very annoying and cross boundaries constantly for the most part in my experience. I’ve encountered some midwives who are there in case of problems. Even in hospital settings. We’ve had dads deliver their babies and MW is there to act if any complications arise. Anyhow. I hope people can know not all midwives are meddlesome. But doulas? Oy! Not a fan but some women love them. To each her own. And one other observation I’ve made over the years as many women who “think” they are prepared for a natural childbirth… Even in as homelike a setting as possible or birth centers… They really weren’t prepared for the reality and expected the midwife/Doula to really be hands-on to compensate for their unpreparedness . So maybe many mid wives may have the self expectation of hands on due to majority of their experiences with not truly prepared moms (unlike yourself). Anyhow. Praying you have an absolutely wonderful, beautiful, and healthy delivery of baby number five.🎉❤ hats off! PS love the education you provide for so many moms on your channel.

I was an L&D RN for 15 years. I started at a very natural hospital where the mom could deliver how ever she wanted without intervention. I moved to Iowa in 2004 and the Dr's were still insistent on using stirrups😢 They went away very quickly after I started there. Birth is natural. Intervention is not needed 96 % of the time. The medical community messes birth up a lot. I believe you are very brave and amazingly strong to go at it alone! Prayers for a healthy mom and baby!! Have the best birth!!❤

Interesting...I absolutely loved my doula and she was respectful, attentive and hands off. She only ever calmly made suggestions and waited for my decision. I think unfortunately many doulas and midwives are being trained as hospital staff and less holistically...we need to get back to the roots of midwifery and doula training.

This was so good! I loved this video and I learned a couple things...Pregnant with my fourth and excited to implement a couple things you said. I do disagree with some of what you said about the midwives, just because my experience with the midwives where I live has been so good - they don't have a major medical background and don't ascribe to the types of things nurses do, they are so calm and professional, knowledgable, and totally have the view that pregnancy and birth is completely natural and wonderful. I can relate to some of the things you mentioned about hospital births, unfortunately, because my first two were in the hospital. My experience at my midwifery was very much what you describe your home births to be like, and I only wish I had gone that route from the beginning. So thankful to get to birth naturally. Thank you for the video!

The 5th birth my midwife missed by 15 minutes. When I realized I could birth by myself without anyone touching me or trying to listen to babies heart beat in the middle of a contraction, I was all for it! So my last 2 were also unassisted births, by choice. I also would not recommend just any woman to attempt that. Thank you for your presence on KZfaq!

Since being out of the system, I see a lot more clearly. You’re so right, they just want to write a prescription. I choose to go as natural as possible, and if need be I’d use them prn. But I plan to do better if I’m blessed with another and I try to remember we all do our best until we know better. Thank you for all your great content lately!

I'm so lucky that I have a GP who takes the time to treat each individual patient and actually examines what is wrong with his patient. He treats people like people and not as a set of numbers. I pray that everyone finds a doctor, nurse any medical care person, like this when they need it.

I don’t have any kids yet but my husband is dead-set on having hospital births so I will be submitting to his wishes. Luckily our local hospital seems to be very supportive of low-intervention births and I am trying to soak in as much info as possible before we start having kids! Your philosophy and wisdom are very much appreciated!

Pray!!! Pray for your husband's heart. Pray for Holy Spirit to illuminate to him what is best for you and baby ( which might be a hospital, but might not)
