I created a short key acronym, ACCAT, that is explained in detail during the full webinar. Here in the short, we review the ICF sample question #2 and what constitutes the best and the worst answer. Thank you to everyone who joined the live webinar.
The ICF Credentialing Exam has significantly changed. Starting August 1, 2022, all ICF credential applicants will take a much more thoughtful and proctored exam with 81 situations.
✨ You will be choosing the BEST and the WORST answer from each situation.
✨ You will have three hours to take the exam.
✨ It can be delivered by computer in a testing center or through Pearson’s OnVUE remote proctored testing service.
✨ This proctoring will make sure you are you. And to make sure that you are not using notes.
✨ This is not an open-book exam. You will need to understand the competencies.

Hi Lyssa, I followed your videos and suggestions on preparing for the ACC Certification exam and passed! It still needs hundreds of hours of practice, study, and mentorship, but at the moment of the exam, your ACCAT helped determine the "very worst" among the answers. Thank you!

Hey Lyssa, wanted to share: I just got my credentialing exam result - I passed! This video helped tremendously, together with your core competence videos. For many questions which I struggled with during the exam, I referred to your ACCTA principle, which worked like a light tower through the heavy fog. Putting the exam aside, I felt benefiting a lot as a coach as well as personal development by watching your videos. Thanks a million!

@@karuna2796 :) I have more of the demo's on my website. The demos have the markers and also have a version without the markers so you aren't being interrupted with the markers every question I ask.

Hello Lyssa !!!! I am curious to know . If the coach doesn’t reflect with the client and why they are not taking the actions , how do we keep those session productive and not just a venting session for client where he will talk and commit to action but not do anything afterwards … ? I feel we need ( with permission) to explore this especially of it is pattern that keeping client from getting what they want ? Thank you

Great question. Basically, there is a choice point for the coach to consider. I am assuming we are talking about Practice Question 2. A client struggles with delegating tasks at work to other team members. During the last session, the client shared that an important project they are leading is falling behind schedule. The coach supported the client in identifying strategies to delegate tasks to other team members. At the next session, the client reports back and shares, “In the end, I decided to complete all the tasks myself. That was the only way to get them done on time.” The coach feels disappointment that the client did not follow through on their plans to delegate. What should the coach do? In the exam over and in this example in particular, we are considering what is client-centered. "The coach feels disappointment..." yet the client feels ok with their choice is "coach centered". Given the answers that are available to the coach in the example, you will need to choose the best and the worst of these provided answers? In this scenario, based on the wording of the question and the answers, the best choice is to take a breath and acknowledge that the client is responsible for their choices. I believe there probably is a question in real-life about what the struggle with delegation is about, or what has the client committing to actions that they then choose not to play with. Still, 1. and 4. are clearly not useful, because in 1: the coach is taking responsibility for the client's lack of follow through, and in 4: The coach is "praising the client" and then judging them for not following through. Neither of which supports the client to learn. Number 3. Is a fine answer, it's just not the BEST... So, consider the choices you have in this question. Yes, in a real-life situation, the coach might ask, "Would it be useful to explore what had you hesitating to delegate?" This type of question would be an invitation to the client to explore the struggle and also let them be at choice to decide if that is what they wanted to look at. But that is not one of the answers you have to choose from... Can you please link the questions you were talking about. I've been searching for them for quite a long time with no result. Thank you!

Hi @Csillluci there are links in the description for my Free program. If you go to the ICF Website you can search for the Scenarios. The problem is that the answers are noted. In my program you can take a mini-exam and take the sample test without seeing the answers. Then work through why the Best is the Best and the Worst is the Worst. :)
