When I started my spiritual awakening, I thought if I get myself to pray twice a day and read the scriptures every day, I will be good. Now I realized it's not enough anymore. I pray multiple times through out the day and then practice listening to the Spirit. I cut out social media from my life and focus on reading church books and listening to the conference talks. In the coming days if you want to keep the oil in your lamp and be ready, you need to immerse yourself in the environment that invites the Spirit all day.

Yes , I'm finding that this is the only way to do it. I keep failing. But I've found that the only way to Jesus Christ is to immerse completely in his life style.

Maybe there was a little "nudge" from the spirit too. 😉 Day by day, moment by moment. Your direction of travel in relation to The Lord and his gospel is more important than your current or past location. Elder Bednar reminded us in conference a while ago, this is a gospel of BECOMING. The Atonement of Christ and the blessing of repentance is at the heart of BECOMING what we can be; a better follower of Chtist. Not better than anyone else. But better than what we were.

I have been "inconsistent" in the church for a long while as well, I have made sure I paid my tithing, but was spotty on attendance, I have felt that urgency also.

Jane, Have you ever attended Catholic Mass? During this beautiful season of preparation for the birth of Jesus, why not go to a celebration of the bloodless sacrifice of the lamb. We celebrate mass every day and we believe in true presence in the bread and wine, which is what Jesus taught at the Last Supper. It is not a symbol, it IS His body and blood.I can not understand how LDS do not go to church on this most sacred day unless it is on a Sunday. Peace!

You know what I'm grateful for? Seeing so many of my brothers and sisters who are awake and watching the signs. Sometimes I feel like I'm all alone when I talk to friends or members of my ward who don't seem to be paying attention and I'm so glad to see people who are!

You aren't alone! I feel the same way and there are many of us out there. We are the ones appointed to wake people up from their slumber. Whether they wake up or not is up to them. But part of why you are going through this experience is so that you can feel the way the prophets of old felt when they tried to wake people up. I realized that we are like one in one hundred or even more. So just think how much Christ trusts you and how much he is guiding your life. So those of us who are awake to what is going on are charged with spreading the word to others. I'm so happy that these videos are being made by these awesome dedicated members. We are on the brink of a great miracle! Stay strong sis!

I like what you said about becoming more righteous as the world becomes more wicked. That is the truth. We need to come away from the world and I see it in my own life as we get caught up in the election and the Covid virus and things being said on fb and KZfaq. I truly enjoy listening and learning. The Savior has many people on the earth in the kingdom who are ready to receive the commandment or invitation to gather in Adam Ondi Omen. Christ and all of the Holy Angels stand ready to come. Christ is waiting to receive word from His Father. When the Father says, Jehovah gather Adam, Petter, James, John and so on and so forth , and go to Adam Ondi Omen and gather the Faithful Saints both living and Dead, receive the Keys and reports from each dispensation, prepare the people to build the new Jerusalem, and to gather the remnants of Israel and return and report. What a glorious time this will be!!

This is really amazing!! Some good insights!! I was wondering and fretting about what I personally could do to change my lack of freedoms! Now I see!!! And yes, I am grateful for the time of Covid, it had woken me up and brought me closer to Christ! I love the thought that Christ will come to us!!! Let’s keep fine tuning, and get Him here!!

This was SO good! I really appreciate your approach. I loved that you taught about how we need to be a people ready to meet the Lord and rise higher. I truly feel that the Prophet knows when the coming of Jesus Christ will be. I was just pondering that today prior to watching this and I was SO grateful that you covered that topic. I think "holding onto the Word of God", or the Iron Rod, really is allowing our divinely appointed entourage of Angels, that is in the Spirit realm, beaming spiritual light, love and truth into our spirits sustaining us this way while living our day-to-day life here in mortality while simultaneously evil spirits trying to thwart us off the path using many distraction and techniques. In essence, "holding onto the Rod of Iron", is surrendering to our "Higher Power".

Wonderful, thank you. I cried when I finished reading the Book of Mormon this year. I've read it many times throughout my life, but this time it felt more needed than ever before. I've also been delving into the restored gospel besides the Bible. All of it aligns together. I feel the presence of the Spirit. Demons have been trying to get to me as well but whenever I call to Christ, the demons flee.

The parable of the 10 Virgins isn't just about members of the church, but about endowed, temple-worthy members of the church. It's a much smaller percentage that will be ready when the Bridegroom returns.

This makes me think of why Pres. Nelson has told us to strive to #HearHIM (HIM is Jesus Christ for those who are not sure what this hashtag means). Personal revelation is key, and he also told us this was important for us to survive the Last Days.

@@lornanicholson3880 Maybe I misunderstood KCs reply to be that 50 percent of faithful endowed, temple-worthy members will also be unready at the Saviors coming. My understanding is that 50 percent of the whole church, members of record, will be unready. I think very few endowed, temple- worthy members will be in the unprepared 50 percent and that most likely all of the 50 percent that are prepared will be endowed, temple- worthy members with their righteous pre-endowed children. Just want to emphasize that being a faithful endowed, temple-worthy member is a great qualification to be in the 50 percent prepared for the Savior’s return. This is only my opinion. Tom only mentions the parable also being a prophesy but correctly doesn’t break it down or speculate publicly between endowed members vs not endowed members without solid, prophetic support.

A general authority (I think a Seventy) was visiting an area in Idaho, and told the leaders there that the parable of the ten virgins was not about the world, and not about the Saints, but it is about the active members of the church. Half of the active members of the church will not be ready or prepared for the Savior’s Second Coming!!!! Thank’s for your marvelous presentation here!!! I surely appreciate it!!! I think the bedrock principle undergirding the US Constitution is closely related to the fundamental conflict in our premortal sphere, which was compulsion vs. freedom. Free societies are based on the principle of individual sovereignty, meaning rights are an inherent characteristic of the individual, whereas unfree societies are based on the notion that might makes right. Grouping people into highly visible classes serves the latter in that a group of people can more easily overpower unorganized people, and overpowering others is the primary concern of those who despise freedom.

I believe it is vital that we stand up for our constitution and the rule of law. Our voices in the form of free and fair and lawful elections have been stolen and destroyed for a long time. I live in Ky.. I see many Christians friends who love deeply Jesus Christ talking about Hearing Him! It about shocks me. I good friend said.. the Lord told me to do whatever I can daily to Hear Him! She said it just like that. I was awed. I heard it again in a podcast by Sally Clarkson.

Brother Pettit, you've mentioned part of 1 Nephi 13, that's my favorite chapter! All the quotes that you mentioned warn us to be prepared and ready for the Second coming. Love your Fireside. My family and i have discussed many scriptures that you have shared. You have added much more. Thankyou. I am so grateful for our Prophet and the church leaders which direct the church in these the latter days. We have eternity to look forward to. We are not left alone. We have the scriptures, Ministering brothers and sisters. We have Come follow me, and our Prophet to guide us.
