Yep, you're better read the Manga, because it have more detail in explaining the plot. As the anime, they just simplify it so that it easy for the MC to be in that event. Some events are likely differ in manga to the anime. But from my perspective, better to read manga from watch the anime.

@@horaciosi I liked it, but I watched it about 10 years ago, and remember very little other than being confused about why it was different from the first time I watched it. I think it might be an adaption of the Negima Neo manga, which I've never read.

It would have been more coherent if the Negima manga were finished properly.. Akamatsu planned these things ahead, when Negima nearly got canceled, things would carry over to UQ Holder.

You can get into it without Negima.. But in my opinion, its very bare bones. From page 1 of UQ Holder.. Why should you are about Evangeline? More fleshed out in UQH, but in Negima missing out her experience with prior characters will lessen the experience IMO.

The original script for this video is probably what you're asking for. When I threw it out, it was as long as this, but only covered the first two volumes, meaning the final product would have been around eight hours. I wanted to get this video out before the UQ Holder anime started to air, because I knew anime only watchers wouldn't know what was happening, so this video was made as a series of bullet points I thought might become relevant. At the time I fully intended to go back and make the eight hour break down, but now I no longer have the time to work on a video like that. I do want to make a complete timeline of the Akamatsuverse once the UQ Holder manga ends, but that's probably years off. Sorry.

There may be a few more OVAs in the future, there may not be, but I highly doubt there will ever be a season 2 of UQ Holder. The UQ Holder anime adapted, something like 140 chapters in 12 episodes, so there simply isn't enough source material unless they try to haphazardly cover the arcs they skipped. Besides Negima never got a season 2, so if UQ Holder does, it'll be towards the end of the series.

The honest answer is I don't know. As far as I know, Tota doesn't exist in the happy end timeline, and that Eva stays in that timeline so she shouldn't meet him in the future unless something happens in UQ Holder. What I don't know is if she ever met him in the first place in that timeline, because time travel is pretty inconsistent in the series. Sometimes it uses branching timelines, and sometimes it's closed loops. So it's possible that she meets him in all timelines, and then never again. It's possible she meets him in the past, and then again when he's born in the future. It's possible that Tota only meets a version of her that connects to his timeline, so the happy end version never meets him period. It's possible that a version of Tota never interacts with happy end past Eva, but he's still born in the future. And it's possible that she never met him originally, but when he forces his way into the past, he sort of retcons himself into all versions of her past, which could either happen before or after Asuna returns from the future. If I had to guess what Akamatsu intended, he meets her in the past, and then she moves on with her life and never sees him again.

Are you asking about the gravestone in the UQ Holder timeline? It's explained in UQ Holder, but to be as un-spoiler~y as possible, he's "Missing."

Naru's sister Mei attends Mahora academy and competes in the Budokai, but is knocked out in round one by Kotaro, she remains a secondary character for most of Negima. Motoko and her sister Tsuruko are seen in a brief flashback bringing Setsuna to the Kyoto Magic Association. Tsuruko also has a brief scene where she shows a young Setsuna the Hina Blade. The Hina Blade goes on to become Tsukuyomi's signature weapon. There might be other connections but it's been like, a decade since I've read Love Hina. Sorry.

If you read the manga then probably not.

You get these Nagi flashbacks during the third major arc of the manga. I don't really count the teacher arc and Wilhelm arc as full arcs, they're gaps of lesser threats between the major arcs.

It's Mahou Sensei Negima!, or Negima! Magister Negi Magi. Negi is Nagi's son, and although Negi is the main character of Negima, his father Nagi is important to the story. This video presents events in chronological order, so that's why I started with his dad. Hopefully that helps?

The original anime was made really early into the mangas run. It was made around chapter 53 out of the total 355 chapters, so they made an anime only ending.

Well, characters are usually made dumb for comedic or expositional purposes. As for characters weaponizing stupidity, the only thing that immediately came to mind was Baka to Test. You're right though I definitely remember it appearing elsewhere but, I can't put my finger on it. I even remember it being an important plot point in something.

Well, Emiya Shirou from Fate/Stay Night is the first person that came to mind, he can only use one spell effectively. But honestly, that's more of a shounen trope than anything unique to Negima or Mahouka. Like even Ichigo in Bleach is too dumb to do anything but swing his sword.

Love you chapter 1. The full timeline would be, A.I. Love you -> Itsudatte My Santa! -> Love Hina -> Mahou Sensei Negima! -> UQ Holder! and Ground Defence Mao-chan might be somewhere. Chances are though you'll want to start with Negima or UQ Holder.

Negima was still in an early part of its run when the original anime aired, so they just kinda did whatever with it, and the second anime was more of a Shaft original story. Ken Akamatsu was pushed into starting Negima as a harem comedy since that's where he buttered his bread previously, so that's also why the anime focuses so heavily on the fanservice aspect, finally a lot of what is discussed in this video happens between volumes 7 through 38, whereas the anime stops at volume 6.

I assume you're referring to the timeline the Witch of the Rift shows them. That is the timeline where Asuna goes back in time after her slumber, so it's the part of the timeline Negima skipped over, it is not the UQ Holder timeline.

Honestly, I kind of agree. UQ Holder is the only Ken Akamatsu manga I don't like. I do like some of the cast, but not nearly as much as the Negima cast. In fact, I feel like UQ Holder is a step back from Negima on every level.
