Paper towel holders could also work for scrunchie displays. Dollar tree has silver ones but you could always paint to change the color.

I found some marble paper towel holders (heavy) at Ocean State Job Lot ( East Coast) ... they hold my rolls of stabilizer!!

One thing that I found has helped me with markets is setting up my display the day before just to see how you’d like to place your things! It’s saves a lot of time the day of! 😁

Neita! This is an amazing video! I have some tips that can help you with the scrunchies in both speed and end result. Step 1: On the seam where you add your label, leave a 1-inch gap along that seam of no stitches in the middle of the fabric. Step 2: Sew the scrunchie up, all the way around leaving no gap. Step 3: Before you turn the fabric, grab a bodkin and thread your elastic through and sew or tie it up. Step 4: Turn your fabric through the 1-inch gap. Step 4: Sew up the small 1-inch gap. This makes sure that most of the time, your sewn up seam is tiny and hidden from the outer edge of the scrunchie, giving a much neater and cleaner end result. I actually sit there for hours with the whole role of elastic and mark it up with a pen and thread loads of scrunchies in one go. Then I just pull one to the end, sew it up, then grab the next one etc... I managed to make 3,500 scrunchies in 2 weeks doing it this way. :)

@True English Rose on step 2 when sewing the scrunchie....are you still using the burrito method? Do your seams show on the outside? If so, is it possible to turn it so the seams are not visible?

Make sure you get something like PayPal's Zettle so you can take chipped credit/debit cards.. people are getting so they don't carry cash as much. Pay Pal was able to overnight ship me one for free .. worked out great!

I didn't know paypal offered chip readers! Good to know ❤ Etsy gives away free chip readers so I have one from a long time ago and the nice thing about it is when you use the chip reader they will count that sell as an etsy sell. I will have to order another one through paypal so Erik has one too just in case it gets busy and he can help people pay. Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤

Scrunchies are very time consuming, and will you get bang out of your buck and the time you spend. How about taking some of your fabric and sell it? Take your mat, ruler, cutter with you. Maybe, just maaaybe some will buy the fabric from you. Just a thought. But definitely make more of the ombre one. And if it doesn't sell, put it up on your Etsy with the quantity you have. If they sell, great! At least its in your shop the ones you made! 🥰 Best of luck, how exciting! Cant wait to see more of this journey!

Suggestion.. take a binder with pictures of the embroidery you do.. that way you can take custom paid orders and ship them to people.. and make business cards!!

Just a thought about sewing the elastic on your scrunchies. Maybe you need to use a ballpoint needle. A sharp or regular one might be cutting the elastic. Then sometimes it's the elastic that's the problem. Thank you.

Maybe a hint as to what I'm doing at my set up in early November....im making up some Christmas socks with a few different names for show and will have order forms there .....pay up front and charge enough to send in mail that week.....as well as towel sets......also make sure you bring your shop cards...lol....I do scrunchies at the sales and handbags.....

I wouldn’t sell scrunchies on etsy, competition is so high. I’d spend my time on the embroidery items for etsy, I imagine those items give you a way higher profit margin than scrunchies would. Anyway, love your content! thank u!

@@NeitaFajita Another option for you. My mother-in-law bought us some christmas ones many years ago, but they were not sold as a hair scrunchie. The maker added some ribbons with bells to them. They were sold as a very simple decoration to put on your doorknobs. Front door, back door, bedroom door, bathroom door. Mine is about 35 years old and I still put it on the front door at Christmas time.

Ya thats one reason why selling scrucnhies can be tricky. You can get them much cheaper elsewhere but because of the time/materials its hard to sell them at Walmart prices.

I ended up adjusting my prices and selling them regular scrunchies for $5 each or 3 for $10 and for the larger scrunchies are $8 each. I found that price to work better for my customers at markets.

Starting an etsy would be my first step. Watch a ton of KZfaq videos on how to start an etsy shop and just get started. When I started I had no clue what I was doing but just learned along the way ❤

Were you able to retrieve your videos? I hate to hear how much a person spends on a project and then loses the file. Did you create it on your desktop and then copy it to a flash drive?

I had all the video clips on the memory chip from the camera. Luckily I didn't spend hours editing the footage and then lose it. I spent about 12 hours though recording it all and when I tried to upload the footage to my desktop it erased everything. It just sucks because I was trying to start a consistent schedule for my youtube videos. 😩😩😩

@@NeitaFajita Ohhh, I'm sorry. Those memory cards usually are pretty reliable but it just takes that one time that it gets corrupted. I was hoping you had it all on your desktop and I was going to try helping you restore the files. Bummer.

Remember to pace yourself with everything you want to accomplish… The Market, making more items, expanding and whatever else; give yourself grace on the things you have done. Maybe write the important things on a dry erase board and scratch off as you go. The scrunches especially the ombré colors are super cute
