Great video!!! You are 100% right, the society is so weak, so stupid that the next depression will wipe out 80% of the population in North America. I lived 13 years of war and I lived through everything you described. God help us if this SHTF event happens.

You make a lot of great points in your uncomfortable truths. No one ever thinks about what to do with human waste let aline dead bodies, but it is an uncomfortable truth we are going to have to deal with.

I love doing these videos, it always shocks me that the prepping channels never mention things like bodies. Yeah it's not sexy like guns and preps but it's reality.
@semperfortisjiujitsu

@unclefreedomvalleytacticsa7521 I think most of the prepping channels and even the gun channels are run by people with no military or law enforcement experience, so they understand combat or SHTF on a book reading level, but not on an personal experience level. I like your perspective because you have both military and law enforcement experience, so you actually know what you are talking about.

I headed up a community project to install emergency supplies at our local elementary school. Among the supplies I put in place were body bags and several 3-hole bucket toilets... The school quietly disposed of those items because "there was no privacy for the emergency toilets and the body bags sent the wrong message?" People always forget about sanitation in preparation for an emergency.

I too am old, 62. I don't start a fight, I have had my ass kicked before. So I now defend myself like I'm the 3rd monkey on the ramp to Noah's ark. Fair, what the hell is that. Great info and passion, the truth is very educational.

Wow! You just kept hitting that bullseye! I took exception to some earlier mentioned items. (Charging batteries on cordless drills) I just got solar. And I have some suitcase size quiet generators with 100 gallons of fuel that I rotate in a detached garage. But as I continued to listen, I found some uncomfortable truths for myself. Lower morals worry me, I’ve always said bartering is dangerous. I read Ferfal’s book. It’s going to take years to recover as you said. That’s the part most people fail to understand. I think I’m safer here than most. I live in the Midwest and there are only 9,000 people in my county, 1/4 are Amish and there is 44 square miles. That means very few people and there are no interstates or railroads within 40 miles. Only 1 stoplight in my whole county. Any big city is 60 miles or further away. Yep we’ll be on our own, but we mostly live off the land anyway. I own my farm, not the bank. I hunt my own land and fish my own ponds. My orchard of over 200 trees will help too. It brings deer to my dinner table. I pressure can them. We’ll lose our conveniences. We all heat with wood and cook. Some also use propane. My tank is so big, it’ll last 3-5 years. All good things will come to an end. Life will be almost unbearable. I must have subscribed after uncomfortable truths video #1 I’ll have to go back to watch it. I’ve seen so many “preppers” advocate buying extra just to barter with. They think it’s going to be like a big garage sale! And make lots of money too! Get anything that you need! They’re clueless! It will be murder, kidnappings, theft, blackmail, fights, and everything else. I’ve been hard core prepping for 5 years. I continue to reassess and I’m willing to change plans and look for holes. I find there are holes and shortcomings in every prep, but that’s just because I’ve truly scrutinized everything. No one can be ready for everything. Just like you reminded us, “everybody’s got a plan until they get punched in the face!

My uncomfortable truth I can share, is that if I didn't have doctors right now I'd probably be dead or die soon. I got bit by a brown recluse spider a month ago, I now have a huge crater of an open wound. Even something as little as a spider can kill you without medical care. Even with care this thing is gonna take months to heal. Stay safe guys.

Oh there's lots of these, the "anyone comes on my property and.... you know the rest", what if they send women or children? In the same theme, you have your buried cache's, who did you let know or bury them with? Are they as mentally together and tough as you? Do they really have any sense of consequences of their actions, including family? What about your adolescent hormonal kids? Relative that always has to have their own way and be in charge until it's time to clean up their mess they've caused. Is everyone on the same page and truly understands what the current situation is and they can mentally accept the current reality? Pets, they are now MREs to a lot of people, the barking tells others you or an MRE is in the house. Do they really earn their keep? Do all the humans around you? Easy times make weak people.

I’m going to agree completely as a almost 60 year old who lives in rural ish North CA and grew up on a Wisconsin farm dairy homestead surrounded by Amish. We all are very likely to suffer a lot and maybe not many people will survive. Maybe. But I do think that improvisation adapting and overcoming will be daily practice. I enjoy your videos. We are Americans, and many of us think that if we just buy enough stuff, we can somehow survive. The only thing we can buy is some time. If we have the knowledge, skillsets, and relationships, this might be enough. You need to invest more than money into survival.

Being born in '88, I feel like our generation was the last generation that wasn't completely soft. We grew up riding bikes around the town and fishing canals, building ramps and gettin into some mischief. Anything we wanted came from cutting a guy's lawn down the street for 15-25 bucks. And, we didn't all have cell phones(unless you had money) or internet until we had dial-up. Me and two of my sisters shared one cell phone. I'm not real old but old enough. Those were the days.

Born in 95 and can relate to this feeling. Grew up pretty poor in a rural area outside a small town and had a very similar childhood did odd jobs and scraped metal in the summer for a few bucks, hunted mushrooms and Ginseng to sell for extra cash also. hunted and fished with friends and road bikes with buddies and played baseball and GI Joes with fake guns that didn’t have orange tips on them and listened to vinyl and cassette tapes watching movies on VHS, didn’t have my first cell phone till I was 15 and didn’t have internet until High School. Isn’t it weird to have lived through and watched how much things have changed just in the amount of time we’ve lived ?

Yes! Hand tools are a necessity, especially in a suburban or rural setting. Shovels, axes, deep tooth saws and extra handles for all of the tools. Some peppers only concentrate on one or two aspects of living without power, but there's so much more to it. Just watch a few movies or shows like little house on the prairie.

Taking a good, long & hard look at ones own situation and the fact this is a very soft society we live in, leads one to realize that this collapse is going to be brutal and ugly. I have 2 wood stoves. People keep asking why i split wood by hand. They just dont get it. One thing to think about. When throwing things out, strip 'em. Take the screws, wire, motors and such. Then toss the rest. Its yard sale season, look for hand tools, cookware, and other stuff you might need. Speaking of smells, when i was in russia, there was a couple snuggling together on a bus. The body odor of them would choke a horse. Very true what you said about smells.

Trenton is on the ball, I feel like this a lot of days but we used to have clans and tribes for a reason. No matter what the TV says younger folks don't know s**t and the schools have made sure that is doubly so, they also can't do a Stag (keep watch) they naturally fall to sleep. Older guys have seen everything twice and are used to keeping long hours as we've pretty much destroyed our natural melatonin by about 35/40. What are folks going to do when they can't Google their way through even simple bumps in the road? Then you have the hormones and the p*****g contests that older guys traditionally stop from getting too stupid and the list goes on. There's a reason there used to be tribal elders and we need to stop listening to the corrupt p***s on the TV and especially the politicians and get back our unity.

Avoid smelling from the can you just warm up. Dont open it, but punch a dent at the side of the can. Warm it up, and when the bulge straightens out, take it away from the heat, wait 5 minut. Then open the can in a close room. Eat and enjoy the fresh cooked meal. In that way you wont spread the smell. Excuse my bad english 🙂 IMPORTANT. Removed the can from the heath as soon the bulge straightens out, otherwise it can explode. I try this many time in the army.

Do you know how to can meats and veggies for long term storage? Don’t cheap out on your pressure canner either. Stay away from the canners that need a replaceable seal. If that seal wears out and you don’t have replacements, you don’t have a canner. All-American canners makes them that doesn’t use a rubber seal.

When your in a ring and get punched in the face you will learn to act and react quick. I to boxed and took up mma for a few years . Growing up in Cleveland Ohio in the 80s&90s you had to fight with all the gang violence

What I recommend is everyone practice putting on their plate carriers, having their preferred weapon, and having hearing protection on in a set time limit. For example... Johnny crackhead is breaking in. Get battle ready in under 10 seconds. ( battle ready is your carrier on, have a round in the chamber, and have your ear muffs on in under 10) I practice this drill daily. On average my carrier is on in 4 seconds and fully secure. I put on my hearing protection in under 2 seconds, rack a round in my shottie in 2 seconds. Why do I practice this. Because Johnny crack head once in the house can reek havoc once he gets past the door. We have all seen the videos. Once in they move as fast as roaches. Time is not your friend.

Well you know it takes horses and oxen muels to plant a field without a tractor also takes them to harvest the crops we don't raise horses or oxen for field work no more we do not have nothing that they had before the depression to survive only a very few will make it if it hits the fan

Somebody in your group may go nuts and need to be locked up or silenced so they don't give away your position. This will require things like handcuffs, chains and padlocks, and/or masks to keep their mouths full of silencing material (unless you want to have to shoot granny). A dedicated room set aside for this purpose can be a plus wherever possible, including with a metal loop in the wall the other end of a chain can be padlocked to. Then they need a 24 hour guard so they don't pick locks or burn up in a fire. If a person has to be masked, vomiting can kill them so a person has to be available to get the mask off fast.

A true prepper would be a person who has the same skills our pioneer forefathers had crossing the Oregon trail. If you don't, you are lacking. If you have some of those skills, then it would be wise to socialize with this with complimentary skills. A SHTF situation brings us right back to the 1800's only with cooler guns, more trash and alot more desperation. My combat shooting friends understand "gross motor skills" and "fine motor skills." We live in a society of living with "Fine" skills but we don't practice the "Gross" living skills. Today's homeless folks living on the streets are better prepared than most. Again brother... thanks for speaking truth to the masses. Have fun at the shooting school and always be safe.

It’s amazing how many people just don’t get it, then again, maybe not, it all makes perfect sense.. modern times have brought complacency. We have some men that have it, and are strong enough to pull through, most are not.. it will get nasty. If you have no experience in rural living or were not ever on a farm doing any farming.. at the very least 19070s and 1980s style minimum.. have a green thumb.. you got trouble coming for sure. It behooves a man to have had some rural, farming, hunting, 1980s kind of childhood at the very least, it would be hard with out it.

I don't feel old usually until I talk with kids today. They start asking me about my childhood in the 80s and 90s they look at me like I'm from a different planet. What do you mean the phone was on the wall..... you had to ask her Dad to speak to her?..... Why didn't you just text? followed by a face palm
