Yes. 1 yard = 3 feet. I said that backwards in the video. Thanks for pointing out the mistake.

Thank you for the video, amazingly helpful! Just want to point out something for the question of repeating powers (18:41), as I used quite a different approach and don't know if it's right of wrong; 7^217; we can rewrite the exponential equation as: 7^217 = 7 ^(216+1). And since 216 is a multiple of 2, then all we have to do is is move 1 step below 7^2 =49 to find 7^3= 243, and our answer would be 3 as the unit digit/the ones unit. Is this reasoning right? Thank you so much!
@preppros
@preppros 9 ай бұрын
No, your reasoning is not correct and will get you the wrong answer. Since the pattern repeats every 4, you have to look for a multiple of 4 not a multiple of 2. For 7^216, 216 is a multiple of 4, so 7^216 ends in a 1. 7^217 is the next on in the pattern, so it ends in a 7. Make sure that you always look for a multiple of 4 in repeating powers questions.

18:41 could you also do 217/4 is 54 R 1 and then go back to the original 4 and say it will end in the same digit as 7^1

I have another question please: Speaking of Ellipses, does the ACT test us in more than the equation; like vertices and FOCI and eccentricities...? Thank you!
@preppros
@preppros 9 ай бұрын
Most questions are focused on the equation. You should know how to find the vertices. For the Foci, you just have to generally know where they appear on an ellpise, but you do not need to know the equation for how to find the exact points. The answer choices make it clear which once is correct for any foci questions that have appeared on the test in the past. You don't need to know eccentricities.

Thank you so much@@preppros Another question please; for trig in the ACT, there's only laws of Sin and Cosine right? no tangent or something additional.
@preppros
@preppros 9 ай бұрын
@@freakyunderdog Nope. Trig topics are basic trig, inverse trig functions, graphing sine, cosine, and tangent functions, law of sines and cosines, and the unit circle.

The last question why is it, not C? Because the 4:8:12 ratio is double and triple so if the shortest side 6 why the next side is not 12? Because 8 double 4. Can you explain plz?
@preppros
@preppros Жыл бұрын
The 4:8:12 ratio is for the angles not the side lengths. The 4:8:12 ratios tells us that we are looking at a 30-60-90 right triangle. Then, we have to use the proportions of side lengths in a 30-60-90 right triangle to find the side length not the 4:8:12 ratio. Watch me explain it again and then it should make sense.

When I plugged in (170sin(65))/(sin(58)) I got 141.569, not 182. Is there something wrong with my calculator? 9:49
@preppros
@preppros 10 ай бұрын
Your calculator is in the wrong mode. Calculators have 2 modes: radians and degrees. Since we are using degrees in this calculation, you calculator needs to be in degree mode. If it is in radians, it will give you the wrong value.

@@preppros how do you switch it to degree mode
@preppros
@preppros 6 ай бұрын
It depends on the calculator you have. For most scientific ones, there is a RAD/DEG button that switches the modes. If you have a TI-84, press MODE and then you will see Radian and Degree in the 3rd row. @@simartbm9783

On the vectors section how does (x-1)(x-2)(x-3) get to 2(1)?
@Luh.mxri_

I mean factorials my bad
@preppros
@preppros 5 ай бұрын
It's just changing to 2(1). It's showing a continuation until we get all the way down to 2 x 1. For example, 7 factorial is (7)(6)(5)(4)(3)(2)(1). For the factorial of any number, you start with that number and the subtract 1 repeatedly until get get to 1. And then you multiply all those numbers together.

none of these were on the preact I took
@preppros
@preppros 3 ай бұрын
Yes, that is quite possible. The are TONS of math topics tested on the ACT, so any one test will not include all the concepts/topics that can appear. Also, the preACT is an easier version of the ACT compared to the regular ACT, so it is less likely to include the most difficult or advanced math topics.
