Super delicious No Bake Cookies made with oats, peanut butter, and chocolate. These cookies are unbelievably easy to make and have the most delicious fudgy and chewy texture. They come together in just about 2 minutes!
RECIPE: preppykitchen....
We love making no bake cookies at our house; they're packed with chocolate peanut butter flavor and make perfect snacks. You might remember I made a video for these way back before the new kitchen was finished. I've since updated the recipe over time and so thought it would be fun to make a new video!

They’re very easy to make for gifts and very cost effective. I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t like them, and IF someone is allergic or doesn’t like peanut butter, just don’t put it in for that single batch and it’s just as good. That was my original recipe, no peanut butter, but it’s certainly good both ways.

I'm not sure if you read comments on old videos but this recipe required no effort to make and yet tastes outstanding. I have loved every single recipe from you so far and you make each one easy to follow. Originally I was going to use some regular cocoa powder on it but i decided to opt for a higher quality one I usually save for cakes. I'm glad I did because the flavor really comes through. Going to try a bit of flaky salt on top of them tomorrow as i'm sure it'll go perfect with them. If anyone has problems with them spreading too much just chill a baking sheet you put parchment paper over and they should set even quicker. I didn't have any room in my fridge due to Christmas prep so I just stuck them outside for like 20 minutes because i's so cold due to the winter storm haha.
@suebean3873
@suebean3873 27 күн бұрын
If they spread too much it’s bc there isn’t enough oats. Mine asks for 3 cups of oat AND a cup of coconut, and they don’t spread. I can make upwards of 50-60 in one batch. Just don’t boil more than 1 minute or else they will be dry, still tasty, but too dry. They need to be shiny and soft(ish).

My creative twist on chocolate no bake cookies is to cool the chocolate longer than required for the recipe. Yes, cook it a bit longer so by the time you add the oats it will immediately start to set in the pan. YES, set in the pan but keep stirring stirring stirring. Then once you are done you can spread those crumbs on a piece of wax paper to cool. Instead of cookies you have chocolate no bake cookie crumbs. You can throw some chocolate no bake cookie crumbs on top of your ice cream! You can grab a handful as a snack, like you would granola! (The truth is, I was making these and let the mix cook to long. I threw in my oats and started to stir and the mix was hardening in the pan and there was no time to drop them into cookies on wax paper. So I continued to stir until all the oats were coated. My niece and sister came into my kitchen and I told them to get out the ice cream. We each had a bowl and threw some of these on top. They loved it! ) Plus I didn't have to tell them I actually goofed making them but we still make a batch of crumbs every few months.

Ghirardelli is absolutely the best cocoa powder I’ve ever used! I have a recipe for no-bake cookies that I found when I was about eight years old. @@JamesSmith-pc6bhyes, cook butter,milk, and sugar to a rolling boil and boil for 1 minute. Take it off stove, add your vanilla, then add your 3 cups of oats (my recipe book asks for 1 cup of coconut and no peanut butter). Either/or works in this cookie. I still add 3 cups of oats, 1 cup of coconut if I have it (if I don’t, no biggy), and now I add a scoop of pbutter unless someone doesn’t like it. Again, my original recipe in my book does not mention peanut butter. That has been added over the years. My recipe book is from the early 70’s. If you overboil, they will be dry and fall apart too easily, you want them shiny and soft.

@@tammiemartinez6485 correct, everything else is the same except the time that you allow it to rolling boil. I've tried it with Nutella, ended up a bit grainy. I have some Biscoff, I could make a half recipe and test it... You can also substitute half the oats for marshmallows and rice cereal and then pack it in a greased 9x13, makes a killer bake sale bar. Drizzle with white chocolate. Or, hear me out, take almond bark (white melty candy in the chocolate section) and melt with peanut butter, stir in dry roasted peanuts, rice cereal, and marshmallows... My Home Ec mentor called them white peanut clusters. Absolutely fabulous and also no-bake.

I'll come back to let you/everyone else know what my results were. Again, Thanks... 😉 Edit... Okay guys. I made these. I 1/2 the recipe so I could make some with peanut butter and the other 1/2 with Biscoff. I tried the boiling for 45 to 50 seconds on the peanut butter ones and they came out very soft. I had to put them in the fridge so they could set. With the Biscoff I let the mixture boil for about 53 seconds. Not only did the Biscoff work but that time frame worked much better. I was rushing to get them scooped into a cookie shape because that's how fast they set up. These don't need refrigeration. I did put them in there just to see what would happen. Well, they're hard now, lol. That's okay though. I'll just set them out and let them come to room temp. Thanks for your input fellow bakers. Should you make these with Biscoff... Enjoy.... 😋

When I saw the thumbnail I was like PLEASE be made with oats. I'm thrilled you shared this. My grandmother used to make these and I have been missing them.

Interesting changes. I still use the one my grandma got from her high school back in the 50s it seems haha. Pretty much the same minus the use of only half a cup of peanut butter and 2 cups of sugar. I wanna try it this way and see how it goes. Thanks for sharing.

I haven't cooked much for years. But I went out and bought all the stuff for these cookies so my 9 year old and I could cook together. You were right! Super easy! Made them again yesterday and we can't quit eating them. Thank you from our expanding waistlines!! Ha

Out of propane? Not a problem. Use the induction cook top. John, I can't imagine what it would take to cause you to panic. And I love that you tell on yourself. You are the real deal. Making these today, BTW!

I just made these. In fact they are in the final stage of setting up. They are delicious. The last few I mixed in high quality dark chocolate chips before spooning out on parchment paper. Those are wonderful too. I highly recommend this recipe.

This recipe has come at the perfect time for me. For our youth group at church (meeting in person finally) I have to make cookies! I don’t want to use oven cause it’s hot 🥵 And you know teenagers they love cookies. Thank you 🙏🏻

I make these delicious cookies, actually learned in home economics class/8th grade, too bad they don’t offer that class in jr. high anymore. Anyway, when we made them, if you didn’t let the chocolate mixture cook/ boil over medium high heat 2-2&1/2 minutes they wouldn’t get firm. Ate the still not firm cookies off the wax paper a many a times. Oh well, they were still delicious with a glass of cold milk. Good luck & happy snacking.

Aah...there's the answer. John's 60secs for boiling the chocolate mix was the blunder. Thanks for the tip for the success of the recipe!

@@maggiethomas6836, I’m definitely not claiming I know more than these KZfaq chefs but I just know that’s why mine didn’t get firm many a times. You can even drop a small drop in cold water & if it forms a soft ball it’s done. Only use the quick cooking oats & the boiling chocolate mixture is what cooks the oats. If you boil that mixture too long they will be dry & crumbly. You are very welcome & I hope they turn out great.

@@maggiethomas6836, Here is my recipe; 2 cups of sugar 3 T. cocoa powder 1 stick of butter 1/2 cup of milk Cook these 4 ingredients in a pot over medium high heat, stirring constantly 2-2&1/2 minutes till a rolling boil Turn off heat & add; A big blob of peanut butter 1 t. vanilla extract 2 cups of quick cooking oats Stir all ingredients together & drop on wax paper These are great for breakfast or anytime with a glass of cold milk.
