Why I Call Myself a "Prepsteader"

This isn't a comprehensive definition or complete explanation, but it helps explain a smidgen of why I consider myself a "Prepsteader". There are elements of anticipation and also abiding. We are not to abandon the ship just yet, so it is important to learn to live simply to God in the present moments we are given. I would love to hear your thoughts. There is so much more to this I will share in the future.

I felt compelled about a year and a half ago to 'be prepared'. I wasn't sure what for, but since then I've done all that I can. This summer in the UK we have had drought and this winter energy prices will be 4 times higher than they were last year. Many people will be unable to afford heating and we may even have rolling blackouts. I'm glad I've done everything I have.

Hi Natalie, I too live in the UK and since covid hit I started to prepare. I've learned how to ferment foods, and how to store foods for long term storage. Also bought a couple of oil lamps, wool blankets, and a means to heat food and water, bought a stove than you only need sticks for, works very well make coffee on it once a week. Didn't know why I was doing all these thing until this year and knowing what's coming this winter. My husband still thinks I'm mad with the food storage and all the items I've bought so we can have light and hot food and water if there's no electric or gas this winter. x

How wonderful! Another Oregonian! My mother’s family came over by wagon train. I too am a prepsteader. On our 30 acre farm. With my son and his family. Trying to live as our Lord would have us do. Listening to Him and striving to do His holy will. Living in simplicity. God bless you dear friend. I do so enjoy your videos.

When I lived off the gulf coast in S.outh TX no one mocked if we were ready ahead of time aka prepared for disaster. We avoided price gouging and more. Be BLESSED.

Young lady, I could never explain h 10:35 10:35 10:35 ow much I enjoyed your explanation of prepsteader. I'm a retired Air Force and on my sail boat for years . I now live in my camper and love it. In set up on a farm, grow my vegetables in raised beds alongside. I'm one of the officers in our church and am so proud to know some of your approaches. I also lived in Oregon at one time in my life. Today I'm canning pork loin exactly as you explained it. I also will be 90 years old come this September 10th. Thank you many times over. Clayton C. Hedge.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I emphasize with you because I have a twin sister and I feel if she passed away half of me would die too. But, we have a blessed hope that if we are born again and truly try to live the life that Christ would have us to live then we will see and be with our loved ones for eternity. I pray for strength and for comfort in your days ahead. Find something your twin loved to do or always wanted to do and try to do something toward that. Like, if she loved animals maybe work at or donate to Animal Shelters or something else. God bless you dear

An Oregon girl! I lived in Sisters, Oregon for several years. I have such an appreciation for people who actually grew up ‘in the country’. Growing up in the prepper lifestyle makes it just more of a way of life. Things we do every day that so many are having to learn. Thank-you for sharing your story, Christa❤️ I do believe that we can and should use our life challenges, experiences and events to help and encourage others. I often edify my six children that failures aren’t necessarily failures if we’ve learned from them. ❤ Your admonition and encouragement in this video is surely a blessing to me today-not necessarily because I am worried so much about the future but because I need the reminder to focus on the task at hand. What a beautiful blessing this video was for me today, several months after it was originally posted. It is easy to become overwhelmed with decision making when one is trying to be in a position of preparedness. The reminder to wait for the Lord’s leading to the next thing is not unfamiliar to me but I can see now that I was focusing to much on a ‘to do’ list with a timeline of my own making. Thank you for the gentle encouragement and for sharing these beautiful passages of scripture. God Bless you.

Wow sis. I live in SW Washington and know that area of Oregon well. The weaving of Gods word into your analogies are very suitable. I truly do understand Prep -Steading in a more wholesome way now. Especially because you're bringing Gods word in on your shares. Psalm 25 is my second favorite to Psalm 27 ,because he promises to reveal his covenant to those who fear him. Thank you so very much. Also don’t stress out about the future so much that you lose sight of the present. I wrote that down and I am putting that on my refrigerator so it is on front of me daily to remind me of just that. That was really well said. Thank you, for that, I think that something we tend to forget (or many are never taught) is the level of partnership we are to walk in with the Lord. He is not distant. He is very present. We are to live in faith and relationship. Not go, go, go, rush, rush, rush, push, push, push. Rather to move when He moves and rest when He rests. Fearing nothing, panicing over nothing because we live in His shadow. Thank you for your channel and for sharing your faith like you do 🙂

I knew when I watched the first video I saw of you that you are a Christian even before you spoke. It exudes from your entire being. I am so thankful for you and the "lessons". you present. I am also thankful to see that you have the courage to present His Word in an easily understood, straightforward format. Hello family preppers, the best item to have in ur preps is the holy Bible. One of my favorite Bible passages is Psalms 37, the whole chapter. It brought me thru! I can never get tired of listening to GODS WORDS. Thanks Christa for the bible study. I would really love to meet u and and study Psalms 27.
