As an American who chose to study Russian before the 2014 invasion of Crimea, this song is actually pretty touching. Yes, I found it from CONELRAD for Fallout New Vegas 😅. I studied Russian bc of Russian immigrant friends I made while growing up on the East Coast. I naively thought Russia had finally laid that missile down, and would come to peaceful terms with the West as they developed economically. Now Putin has wrecked their economy for this war, and I just want y'all to know my Russian friends hate Putin, and all but the craziest Russians hated Stalin too. They're just too afraid to speak out. My Russian friends who attend Moscow University were threatened with expulsion if they were caught at anti war protests. You can get 15 years in prison right now just for calling the war they started an "invasion" or "war" instead of "Special military operations to denazify and disarm Ukraine" It's insane and sad. I'm an American who loved Russian culture and wanted to go have some borsch and vodka with them. Why can't they come here and have some whiskey and wheaties with us? It's entirely because of their government that we're kept apart. They're lovely people, if only their government wasn't insane and authoritarian. If you think America is beyond saving or somehow a dictatorship, I highly recommend an in depth study of Russia. Even these days we are far more free than they.
