I saw my life through the eyes of God. I saw how every piece of my life had come together to make a perfect and beautiful story. There was nothing beautiful about my life from my eyes. I had starved myself for 2 weeks because I am anorexic. I was asked "What do you believe to be true about Jesus?" "That .He died on the cross for ME!" In that moment I was free from all things that had haunted me.

Huh? As in....what? You can't BELIEVE IN YOURSELF? You need 'god' or 'jesus' to do it? Did you ever truly Open your mind and THINK? There's many 'religions' (and many don't actually 'Practice what they preach' ). That the WORD 'god' is possibly a metaphor of YOURSELF, human language are words that are symbols of concepts in which we created for communication on another level...but...There's Always MORE to learn in this thing called Life. I myself don't 'feel bad' or negative to myself or my past as it's an experience to gain knowledge from. There is no 'right' or 'wrong' ....yah...just like that jesus dude and his story the world is TOLD (to beleive * ) to. 'Jesus died on the cross for us so now we are to worship him and his father...that magic man in the sky'....really? In a way that sounds greedy, don't you think? Not LOVE.

By these Near Death Experiences, we understand that, we all are the children of the same God.He created us with love. ''Religion does not matter'' He wants us to love each other same way. But, we human beings do not understand the pure and unconditional love advice from God. We did war for thousands of year everywhere on the earth and killed millions of people, ( young, elder, children and women) and we are still doing war and killing each other everywher,lots of people are still suffering. Please , convey this unconditional love mesages from GOD to your rulers ( to presidents, P. Nice interview, my favourite bit was brain acting as an inhibitor of consciousness, its an amazing hypothesis. I guess thats why the exercise of shutting your mind is so hard when one tries to meditate. I guess interpretation of all world religions are very superficial. Eastern religious practices involve lot of rituals and modern Abrahamic believers care a lot on judgement. I recon middle path as Dr. Smith reconciles is the right way where spirituality and science are two separate notions. You can't put one lens on to other and judge it.

NDE: George Ritchie’s account Return from Tomorrow. This holds great weight for me. Pre internet, pre Moody’s books, he had to be persuaded to have his story written and went on to be a renowned practising psychiatrist. He met with Jesus. And was asked: “What have you done to glorify me?” Something to consider for those who casually dismiss the Judeo/Christian narrative (and the old/new covenant is all one narrative) Also. Howard Storm and Ian McCormack, both compelling testimonies. Much respect to Houston Smith, a very experienced and knowledgeable man. Interesting that over time he “pushed” the Dali Llama about the existence of a soul, even more interesting that he in a (vague way) conceded we have one. In other interviews Houston Smith said he is a Christian because he knows he needs forgiveness. How true ! And how do we receive it ? This is a gift through Christ, not earned through being good enough (the works of imperfect man) or an endless recycling of self. We live once, face Him and face judgement. To use legal terminology guilty would be the just and righteous verdict, but we set free to enjoy (be in) his presence because of the price Yeshua paid. Deeds are “weighed” however. Again: “What have you done to glorify me?” Sobering. Amen. (So be it)

I am not sure that energy survives death, since energy is part of PHYSICAL (virtual) reality. Consciousness survives death. Consciousness is not material/energy.
@dougvodogaz14944 жыл бұрын
Thoughts are energy that's how we create and manifest reality as we know it. I have been exercising control over my thoughts and have changed my life and reality dramatically in so many ways and things seem to manifest in pretty much what I focus on with a knowing that I am the creator of my reality. Regular meditation and visualization knowing without a doubt that it is happening and is on its way, but you must see yourself as already having it. So I guess that all is energy but some energy is so subtle that you can't really prove that it exists.

He was a dear person, well-loved by all who knew him (including me) and far above most in his knowledge..both divine and human. There's a proverb in Arabic though: فوق كل عالم العليم (Above every knower is one more knowing). Many great men, like him, Seyyed Hossein Nasr, Titus Burckhardt, Martin Lings and James Cutzinger (who reversed his course before he passed away)...all of them were close disciples of Frithjof Schuon. None of them saw that he was one of the greatest heretics of all time; AND, in important places, THEY taught what HE taught. Their authority, if they were called Shaykh's, also came from a false course! They are STILL great men! Life and knowledge of the Truth with a capital T, are not simple! Everyone who loves these authors, as I do, needs to surpass a few things, before they can find those who are "more knowing." And those words "more knowing" refer to a knowledge so very much higher that, symbolically, one could say it's 165,000 times higher than what ALL these very great men knew! See a starting place up, here: frithjofschuon.wordpress.com

The matter to energy conversion Einstein mentioned isn't accurate used here. When you die or have an NDE the body still exists and the perception explained by NDE exists as a separate entity, not destroying the body visible and still functioning cellularly (a requisite to coming back), and when you die that mass still exists but decays under enzymatic and microbial action we are all familiar with from food left to long in the fridge. The matter to energy exchange happens in nuclear explosions and is quite energetic, only a small amount of radioactive matter converts into city distroying energy, if that happened when people died we'd have no cities left. I agree on the complexity reducer concept around 13:40, in that NDE's have a regular experience of timeless and spaceless and separationless we need to experience to be here and learn the lessons we do.

When your born into this world, you are born into this sinful world. Flesh was cursed and accepting this flesh means accepting the fact that it is in this raw cursed state that you come into. Like it or not. When your here, you can be freed of the curse or sin nature and then go about living this life and enjoying it without condemnation hanging over your head, by asking for forgiveness of this curse or commonly known of as sin. You may feel that you didn’t do anything to be forgiven for, but you were born and that’s all it takes. That’s where Jesus comes in. If your here, he knows it. He’s waiting for you to sign in so he can get moving on your life. He’s got things waiting for you to do. Your disbelief in this has no bearing on it being truthful or not. If the ship left without you, you can make as many clever and interesting stories why you didn’t take it, but after all the layers of bull get striped away, that thing you didn’t believe in just left without you.

The wages of sin is death, buddha did not die for our sins! Jesus said broad is the way that leads to destruction: "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it!" Only the blood of Jesus Christ can cleanse us of sin, and that can only happen when we belong to Him. Hell fire whether real or metaphorical, cannot cleanse us of our sin. Jesus taught that Hell is the place of torment the eternal abode of uncleansed unforgiven sinners, Satan, and demons. And Jesus being the only begotten Son of God, who declared that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Light trumps all others, whether the Dali Lama, the Pope, or any other religious leader. Jesus also taught that in the end times there would be great deception, and the teachings today that advocate that there are many ways to salvation and eternal life in heaven is that great deception.

God was so gracious that He sent the most precious one He had, His only Son Jesus, to the cross to pay for our sin. And to deny that is suicide. It's your choice Jack. What do you want to do.

Of course there is no more Death. After Jesus Christ arose from the dead, he took the "Keys to Death and the Grave" away from Satan. And at that time He Defeated Death and the Grave. This is not to say there is no consequence for living a sinful/evil life, and UNbelief in the Salvation of Jesus Christ. He says: "No one comes to the Father except through Me." So where God is Not, there is Darkness and Hell Fire forever. Regretfully, mankind still tries to put his own beliefs and superstition into life and death. Jesus Christ said "The worlds Sin is UNbelief in Me." John 16:9

Anne, it seems to me that the revelations about how Life appears to be 'constructed' (e.g., that we're eternal souls who have repeated life experiences as human beings) point to universal principles that have existed well before, and that far transcend, any religion we have invented along the way. Sure, these religions may have been inspired by glimpses of awareness about that 'bigger picture', but being human inventions, none of them is the 'ultimate' revelation, certainly not to the point where adherence to (buying into) one religion during one brief human lifetime decides once and for all the fate of the eternal soul that manifested itself physically during that one lifetime (that just makes no sense at all). It is my hope that humanity will move beyond the era of 'competing religions' and come to realize that Life is the only true religion, which is to be preferred above all others, if for no other reason than that it's not man-made.
@annechristian30959 жыл бұрын
opeendaginmaart57 You make sense, in a sense. You are right in that Life is Not man-made. Man may believe he is some sort of eternal being in of himself, but man is not "in of himself" He has a Creator, and this Creator gives him life, the "Breath of Life (by blowing into his nostrils the breath of life). Each soul has a purpose he must fulfill, and this purpose is what he has set for himself along with his Creators ideals. Your inner spirit knows what is right and wrong, the God given conscience we each posses is either awake, or has been numbed into uncaring for your fellow human being. Or something like that.

Buddhism is a empty shell. I find its tenets useless. You cannot have reincarnation without some form of teleological direction, a judging organiser. The soul's existence seems inevitable. Yet, we may know nothing or deceived into believing anything.

maybe we only Think we need an organiser because in our bodied form we are imperfect. We need to be given direction. But perhaps the soul does Not...

+ellebane, everything around you has a directive form and purpose. It appears we are given the faculties to recognise Platonic shadows of truth. The question remains why is there imperfection in the first place?

People should not meditate. It is like opening the door to evil spirits.

There is Christian based meditation though.

Biblical death is eternal separation from God. People who turn from God go to hell in the compartment of like offenders and never see heaven.

I wouldn't be to sure about that for I personally have met a new born Christian who use to be a very negative drug user, alcoholic and violent man who committed suicide by hanging himself and went to heaven and experienced things like a lot of people who have had near death experiences, and he was found by his mother and the paramedics bought him back to life with CPR, and that's how he went from atheist to a Christian. I personally don't think much of the bible as the best means to enlightenment but that is my opinion for me

John 3.3 Romans 5.5 Romans 8.9 Romans 8.26. 1 John 5.18. unless you are born again you cannot see heaven. Hell is real and undescribable suffering, Jesus warned us of hell fire burning for eternity. Jesus is the only way to heaven. The road is narrow and few make it to heaven. Everything else will burn for eternity in hell. Totally deceived by Satan.

This does not sound Biblical. JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY AND TRUTH.
